I've been using this team on Shoddy for a while, some days it seems perfect, others it's a little ..meh.

Help and pointers would be appreciated :)

Spr_3e_235.gif

Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Jolly
252 Atk//252Spe//4Def
-Baton Pass
-Spore
-Swords Dance
-Taunt
People panic when they see this, and if they switch, I get a Spore in, and thus a Dance. Taunt also frees up space for Attack boosting. He hates fast Taunters like Aero, however =/

Spr_3e_212.gif

Scizor @ Life Orb, Technician
Adamant
248HP//252Atk//8Spe
-X Scissor
-Bullet Punch
-Superpower
-Quick Attack
Basically, he receives Ledian's dancing, and uses Bullet Punch to murder everyone (and generally acts as broken as Scizor can be in the Platinum metagame). The other three attacks are virtually filler.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Naive
4HP//252Spe//252SpA
-Flamethrower
-Earth Power
-Hidden Power Ice
-Explosion
Loves to swallow any fire attacks aimed at Led or Scizor, and is utilised as a revenge killer, or Blissey-Buster. Boring, regular Scarftran :)

center]

Cresselia @ Light Clay
Bold
220HP//124Def//164Spe
-Lunar Dance
-Reflect
-Light Screen
-Psychic
Robbed from the premier edition of "The Smog", I love this thing.
If there's one thing worse than sacrificing half your team to kill a Pokémon, it's losing half your team to a Pokémon, only to see it return from the grave, aha.
Also, screen support = win. I bring her in on stray Earthquakes and the like and screen up, and if need be, sacrifice her.

center]

Empoleon @ Petaya Berry
Modest
12HP//12Def//232Spe//252Spa
-Agility
-Substitute
-Surf
-Grass Knot
Bring him in on one of the many Pokémon that can't ruffle his feathers, and Agility on the switch, from where I proceed to Sub down to berry activation, and attempt a sweep :)
Occasionally used as a lure for Electivire.
This guy LOVES Rain Dance teams.

center]

Electivire @ Expert Belt
Mild
36Atk//220Spe//252SpA
-Thunderbolt
-Flamethrower
-Earthquake or Hidden Power Ground?
-Cross Chop
Excellent set brought to my attention by Wolflare, I think it was.
Just brilliant really, bring it in on an attack aimed at one of the lures, or on Blissey's Thunder Wave and hopefully do some damage.

Anyway, I humbly await your advice ^_^

Ledian @ Focus Sash, Early Bird
Timid
248HP//252Spe//8SpD
-Baton Pass
-Swords Dance
-Bug Buzz
-Encore
The idea is to set up as many Dances to pass onto Scizor as possible, or onto Electivire if they hit me with an Electric attack.

I LOVE Ledian.

I do apologise for the inordinate amount of times I used the verb "to love" in capital letters in this post. Anyone would mistake me for a thirteen year-old girl.
On second thoughts, I apologise more for the HYOWGE-ness of that 'Vire picture. Although I think it's badass enough to warrant it.. :D

Anyway, I humbly await your advice ^_^

Looks effective, if a pokemon had both a fire and water move, would would be in trouble.

ahhh its the team i 'pwned' in your own words :p ah ha

i actually really like this idea, the only thing i'm not sure about it is bug buzz..with a 55 spA, it's not going to do that much damage even as a super effective hit...especially as SD doesnt affect it, what about...u-turn, or either of the screens, reflect would help electivire agasint earthquakes, or perhaps agility :)

superpower-brick break, the attack drop wont matter if your banded and bringing it in on somthing, other than that all good :)

not sure about this myself, but will explotion ohko blissey without any attack evs? maybe look into that, other than that fine, just a bit worried about two choice poke's on one team...

Cresselia @ Light Clay

220HP//124Def//164Spe

cresselia cant learn healing wish :S give it moonlight instead :) a healing cresselia is SO annoying..almost on a par with stallrein :p good pokemon for this team though :)

i love empoleon, but i'm not sure about grass knot..i used to use one and i switched between the three moves and could never decide. i think the best is ice beam and surf, but then your screwed against water types :/ however, i'd consider changing this...earthquake will be the end of it i'm affraid :/

Electivire @ Expert Belt

all fine, all to improve here is your prediction of electric attacks, as vire's not really all that great without the boost :/

all good so far :)
though...big weakness=earthquake if a gyrados comes in on anything but vire, dd's on the switch, he'll wipe you out with quake :/
i'd use a levetating bronzong instead of empoleon as a psyical wall :)

Sorry, "Healing Wish" on Cress was meant to be "Lunar Dance", although they do the same thing :)

It OHKOs Blissey most of the time, and if it doesn't, I switch in Scizor for a Bullet Punch. Blissey isn't a worry for me though.. its Thunder Wave goes to Electivire and I have two good Physical attackers.

U-Turn is a great idea! I can't believe I missed that :D

And Nt '95 trainer, that's true, but I've yet to see anything like that.. maybe a Specsperior with Surf and Flamethrower? ;D

Lets see how this does to the current top 10 leads right now:

Metagross: You lose, Bullet Punch 2HKOs you, mainly just letting you get in a SD, but not pass it.

Azelf: You lose pretty much if it attacks first with Fire Blast, it will 2HKO you, and outrun you before you can BP.

Swampert: You most likely win, by getting a SD and being able to BP.

Jirachi: Definitely lose, Iron Head 2HKOs you, and even gives you a small 40% chance of even getting a SD in.

Aerodactyl:
Same as Azelf, if it attacks, you lose, if it sets up SR, you will be able to pass.

Infernape: You lose to this, Fake Out breaks your Sash, flinching you, then can OHKO you after that with Fire Blast. You then never got to use a move. =[

Hippowdon: Probably the same as Swampert, seeing as it is likely it will set up SR first.

Ninjask: You can actually win here if you Encore it (it would be very funny if it was locked on Sub lol).

Bronzong: You can pass boosts if it sets up, but when Bronzong sets up, it can set up Dual Screen, which can be very bad for you.

Tyranitar: You can pass boosts. You SD, while surviving Stone Edge with Sash, then BP, as Ledian is faster.

Although, this lead is terribly outclassed by Ninjask, and even if you do like it (I also do <3), you will not do very well in terms of leading.

Scizor @ Choice Band, Technician

Passing boosts to a Choice set makes it set up fodder, and wastes your time when you passed all those boosts and you run into something that resists your attack. I would change this to SD Scizor. Also, Superpower>>Brick Break, it OHKOs Magnezone on the switch, and provides more power such as 2HKOing Skarm after a SD, and is still more powerful even AFTER the Atk drop. Don't forget you can also add Quick Attack>>Pursuit if you are using the SD set to hit stuff that resist it like Jolt, Nape, etc. I don't suggest Roost as you will have no time to Roost at all.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf

Modest

Do Grass Knot>>Ice Beam as you already have Heatran to deal with Dragons.

Electivire @ Expert Belt

36Atk//220Spe//252SpA

-Flamethrower
-Hidden Power Grass*

Yeah, but really Anti from PokeCommunity made the set, I just distributed it (it is also on Smogon because he did the analysis for it). Every thing is fine with this. ;D
Pretty good team, only thing that worried me on not working was Ledian. I might come back to spot threats for this team. =]

Oh, that Led assessment was epic :)
Thanks so much!
The threat spot would also be appreciated, aha ;D

It was a Ninjask lwad originally, but everybody knows how to handle that.
Most of the time people just see Ledian leading and think "Wtf is that?" and don't know how to respond, which is sort of how it works.. but I might change it.

So Grass Knot on Empoleon, and maybe Life Orb, Swords Dance Scizor?
Or would an Occa berry work?

you know..maybe sound crazy but how about a metal coat on scizor? if you got in one or two swords dances on ledian then passed, metal coat would power up bullet punch and you could sweep for all your worth :)

i think thats probs crazy thouggh ah ha :)

No problem, just went to May's Shoddy usage for leads. =]

Eh, even if it is rare, the opponent probably continues what is does with most leads. =3 And, even then it is still outclassed by Ninjask, it is kind of like using Togekiss>>Blissey as a special wall, when Bliss does it way better. =P

LO SD Scizor would work with Smogon's average EVs. ;D Don't use Occa Berry, even ScarfTran deals 129.41% to it using Flamethrower.

Edit:

Metal Coat powers up ONLY Steel-type moves for 1.2%. Life Orb powers up EVERY move by 1.3% with a cost of some small recoil, so don't use it, and LO lets you get some KOs on stuff you need to use something other than BP.

Currently testing with all changes, Scizor with Metal Coat and Superpower/Quick Attack and Empoleon with Grass Knot.

Metagross leads are simple for me to deal with, I Swords Dance first turn, then encore them as they Stealth Rock, and get a free turn :)

EDIT: Any suggestions other than Ninjask for a Swords Dance passer? I don't like Ninjask much, but will use it if need be, I suppose =/

i still think that if you lose cresselia your weak to earthquake :/

Yeah, like I said with the comments I gave, if they don't attack first, you can set up and pass. If they do, you lose. =\ Jask is also better as it gives Speed boosts, and sometimes provides a Sub, while also giving a SD.

Eh, everything that can SD and BP, gets outclassed by Jask as a lead.

Edit: Just to refresh if you haven't seen my response on (from my last post, but it was edited after you posted):

I've seen this comment before, but remove the choice band from scizor. and if you're going to use grass knot on empoleon you might wanna use ice beam on cresselia, against salamence (people say that ice beam on cresselia is a must have so you can defeat salamence so...)

Changes in bold.
Help chose which Ground attack on Electivire?
And mijzelffan, what would you suggest I remove? Psyhic..?

He does have Heatran to deal with all versions of Mence except DD. Even with DD, he can try to force the opponent to lock themselves into Outrage. But, since ScarfTran isn't a for sure counter for Mence, then just use Ice Beam over Psychic.

smeargle? he can be awsome, taunt, spider web, swords dance and baton pass?

Thanks everyone for the great advice :)
I'll change the first post one last time, it works great now, probably one of my best Shoddy teams.

Thanks!
