Chapter list:

Chapter 1: A lost egg in a strange forest
Chapter 2: A rough landing
Chapter 3: A Carvahna-filled Chapter!
Chapter 4: Captured?!
Chapter 5: Back to the Ball, and out again

Okay, so I realize my last fic died before I got to the good part :(. Anyways, I've created a new one, hoping it'll turn out better and that people will review it. With that, here's the prolgue of A Wottery Story!

Prologue: A wet and wottery beginning

It was a cold, dark night. Waves blasted against the shores of the beach, pulling many sleeping Krabby and Staryu back into the depths of the ocean. My family’s seaside hut was no exception to the blasting waves, sadly, and there was chaos indoors.

“Get outside!” My mother yelled as water flooded our hut. Normally this would be no problem, being a family of Mijumarus, but we would drown soon if we didn’t get out quick enough. After all, just because you can swim doesn’t mean you can breathe underwater. I mean, go look at the humans in the closest region, Isshu. Some spend all day swimming in the water, but they can still only breathe above the waves. It’s basically the same with Mijumarus.

There was only one problem with getting underwater; all of the windows and the door were completely submerged, and the only way would be to swim down for long enough to unlock the door or a window and get out. As I was young, I would never be able to swim for long enough to escape. Our only hope was for my mom to do it, and she was holding an Egg in one hand and attempting to keep it dry. I realized that if she was to do it then my unborn little sister would die.

“I’m going to try!” I yelled, and took a deep breath, then launched myself into the water I dove five feet, then ten, then fifteen. I reached the floor of our house, and swam to the door, attempting to Shell Blade it and let the water out of our hut. Upon popping the shell off my chest, I lost hold of it and was forced to swim upwards to retrieve it and get a breath of air.
I swam down again, shell in my paw, and the same thing happened. When I was mere seconds from cutting the door, I was forced to return to the surface for air.

“I can’t do it,” I gasped as the water rose. It were almost as high as the ceiling, and we would all drown if we didn’t find a way out soon. Suddenly, I was jerked against the wall as our hut tumbled into the ocean. The rocks and sticks our hut was formed out of began to slide out of place, leaving a small hole only large enough for me to barely get through. The water was rising at a super fast speed.

“Go,” my mom said, and pushed my sister’s Egg into my paws. “Take your sister with you. Her name will be Marua when she hatches. Go.”

“Mom, I’m not leaving without you!” I yelled.

“I’ll be fine,” she said. “Go, now. I promise we’ll see each other again soon.”

And with that, I swam out the opening, into the cruel ocean, being sure to keep the Egg as dry as possible. I could see the beach in the distance and the storm in the sky, lightning pounding on the sand. I swam over to it, sure it was the island on which I lived. I washed up on the beach with my sister’s Egg only a little wet. I stood up slowly, and walked off the beach into a small woods, placing the Egg carefully in a place it would avoid rain if rain happened. With that, I passed out, my last thought of my mother, trapped underwater in our hut.

Please review it! The following chapter will be longer than this, I promise.

Wow dude, it sucks to be a Mijumaru. No wonder the guy's an emo.

Re: A Wottery Story: The tale of a young Mijumaru

^ This. I was reluctant to read it, knowing it would have copious amounts of Mijumaru, but you've managed to make this an intriguing fic. I like the dark aspect of the story, although I'm still wondering how the house got flooded in the first place.

Re: A Wottery Story: The tale of a young Mijumaru

Thanks for the reviews you two! I didn't expect for the prologue to turn out a bit dark, but now that I've read it again I guess it does come across that way. Also, Articuno, time ot answer your question.

The hut was right at the edge of the water, literally a couple feet away, and was made out of loosely put together stones and straw. So, when the gigantic waves hit it, I figured it'd be easy for water to leak in.

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks for the answer.

Re: A Wottery Story: The tale of a young Mijumaru

Honestly, I'm not too sure about continuing this RP. With the awards coming up real soon, I want to try and make a fic that might be popular enough to get nominated (Though I doubt it) for an award. Please be honest and tell me if you think this fic has any potential.

Re: A Wottery Story: The tale of a young Mijumaru

So... When can we see more of Mijumaru's horrible life experiences? Because it's just that awesome, you know.

Heh, I'm actually hoping for it to get more positive for a while, if this continues. I'm not the kind of guy who likes to write about stuff like that, unless it's just to set up for later, which this one was.

Anyways, this already has almost as many posts in a day as my last one had in like two weeks, so that's given me some hope.

Re: A Wottery Story: The tale of a young Mijumaru

This is a nice story, even though it is a little dark. I suggest you continue with it.

Re: A Wottery Story: The tale of a young Mijumaru

Just keep going. I think this story has great potential. Maybe not the best I've ever seen, to be frank, but this could definitely develop into a great fanfic.

Re: A Wottery Story: The tale of a young Mijumaru

Anyways, here's Chapter One! And chapters will come sometimes quickly, but other times very slowly. This is one of the quick times.

Chapter one: A lost egg in a strange forest

I woke up on the beach, still groggy from sleeping and not sure of my surroundings.

“What the …” I mumbled getting slowly to my feet. “Where in the world-“

Then the full reality of last night hit me like a bullet. I remembered swimming out of my underwater home with my sister’s Egg, and swimming slowly to the beach, then collapsing from exhaustion.

“Where did I leave my sister’s Egg?” I mumbled, searching around. I had left it in the shade, I remembered, just beside the trunk of a tree. But there were too many tree trunks and too many shady spots on this island for me to find her.

I ended up wandering the entire perimeter of the island, but to no avail. Where was the Egg? I began to wonder if there were any Meowth on this island, because they were known to steal and eat Eggs. I pushed that thought out of my mind as I searched, but it became increasingly more evident that the Egg was gone. I had no way of knowing where it was, and for all I knew, the Egg had been washed out to sea or eaten.

“Man, Mom’s never going to forgive me if I see her again,” I said, then fought back a small burst of tears at the thought of my mom. In a desperate move, I burst through a bush into the forest, startling several Caterpie who were busy munching on leaves in hope of evolution.

I looked around at the forest. It would be so easy to get lost in here by myself. But maybe I wasn’t by myself. I mean, if I could just find one friendly Pokemon, I might, just might, be able to find the Egg.

I turned to the Caterpie behind me, several cowering away in fear as I fixed my gaze on them.

“Look,” I said. “I’m sorry about interrupting your eating, but I need help.”
“With what?” one of the Caterpie, the largest and bulkiest, said.

“I need help finding my sister’s Egg,” I said. “I fell asleep last night on the beach, and when I woke up it was gone. All I need is for one of you to help me not get lost by following my and spinning thread. That way, I can just travel back across the thread when I finish.”

“I’ll do it,” one of the smaller Caterpies remarked, jumping down from the bush. “It sounds simple enough. Just one second.”

The Caterpie attached a string to a nearby tree, and I started walking. The Caterpie followed close behind, continuing to spin out the thin, sticky thread as we went.

We continued walking, slowly making our way straight. Suddenly, I tripped over something long and thin, and realized that it was the thread from before. Ahead of me was the bush we had started at, with several Caterpie staring at us.

“How in the world-” I said, then realized that the tree next to me seemed to be moving. In fact, the entire forest seemed to shift anxiously. Just then, I realized the truth as everything in the forest attacked us.

Hundreds of Oddish popped out of the ground, things I had originally figured were grass. Some trees revealed themselves to be Exeggutor and Torterra, all of them glaring angrily at me. Suddenly, an egg popped from one Exeggutor, and I snatched it up. Upon closer inspection the egg was revealed to be my sister’s Egg, and I was immensely relieved. However, all happy thoughts were drained from me as every Grass Pokemon in the forest used Solarbeam on me, the intruder to their forest. I barely escaped with my life as beams of yellow energy shot at me. Thankfully I hadn’t been raised just to laze around all day, and was only hit by two or three of the blasts as I escaped.

Suddenly, a lone Fearow burst out of the forest, being targeted by the Solarbeams too.

“Come with me if you want to live,” he said, and I climbed on with the Egg.

“We’re going to escape this island,” Fearow said, and took off. I fell asleep from fatigue just as the small island faded into the distance…

Re: A Wottery Story: The tale of a young Mijumaru

An excellent continuation of the Prologue, Wotter. I like the forest actually being Pokemon. Very clever.

Heh, well in one of the manga books the same thing happens to Yellow, so that was how I got inspired to make the forest out of Pokemon.

Re: A Wottery Story: The tale of a young Mijumaru

Anyways, here's Chapter 2!

Chapter Two: A rough landing

I awoke with a start, surprised to see myself and the Egg both balanced carefully on Fearow’s back.

“How in the world did I stay on?” I mumbled, looking to Fearow for an answer.

“It wasn’t easy,” Fearow said. “I had to slow down every few minutes to keep you from falling off. Anyways, here’s our destination, up ahead.”

“Oh, good,” I said, and realized that I was very cramped from staying in this one position for so long. “Where are we headed to, anyways?”

“The closest area to that island that I can think of," Fearow said, staying in the air all the while. "In a minute you'll be able to see it up ahead."

I could see something in the distance, and it looked like three large islands seperated by water. I recognized it as the region of Isshu, and was afraid for a minute.

"No way am I going there," I said. "I hear that there are cruel Humans there that pit every Pokemon they find in battles, without any idea of how much pain the Pokemon suffer."

"Oh, everyone exaggerates it," Fearow said. "It's not that bad."

"How would you know?" I asked.

"Oh, I used to have a Trainer," Fearow replied. "Look, that's not the point. If you want to jump off my back and fall a hundred feet into the ocean, that's fine with me."

I realized that I had no choice except to continue the ride to Isshu.

"Fine, but if a Trainer catches me, then what am I going to do?" I said. "Soon I'll have a baby sister to look after, an it'll be unbearable on my mind if we get seperated again."

"It'll be fine," Fearow assured me as we flew ever closer to Isshu. "I'm gonna drop you off right at the edge of the largest city in the region, and you should be able to fend for yourself there."

I wasn't so sure.

"But just imagine if-"

Suddenly, there was a thumping noise, and Fearow began to fall. He had been knocked out, I realized. Below us, in the water, was a large ship, clad with Pokemon in cages and humans with tranquilizer guns. I noticed a tranquilizer dart embedded in Fearow's wing as we fell straight towards the ship's deck.

"Now!" A tall ,burly man with a mustache yelled, and four Pidgeot burst from the lower deck, each of them holding the corner of a net in thier beaks.

"Oh, no," I mumbled. I was going ot need to make a break for it. I grabbed the Egg and jumped straight off Fearow's back, hitting the water just next to the boat and passing out from the impact with the water. I awoke a few minutes later, floating with the Egg on my belly. I had no idea how I had managed to keep the egg with me, but it was a stroke of luck. I realized that it wasn't exactly good lick, because now we might both be captured. I wasi nno shape to swim and escape after the impact with the water, so I simply watched and listened to Fearow falling int othe net and being loaded into a cage.

"I'm dead," I mumbled. Someone must've heard me or seen me jump off of Fearow, because soon excited yells were heard on deck.

"There's one in the water!"

"Get out the Sharpedos!"

"Don't kill it, bring it up!"

And with that, several nets lowered from the side of the ship, entangling me and several Magikarp. The net with me in it rose, until the Egg and I were lying, entangled, on the ship's deck, right next to Fearow's cage. More yells followed.

"A rare one!"

"Is that an Egg on it's chest?"

"Get it in a cage!"

"Should I tranquilize it?"

I had absolutely no confidence in escaping, but I was desperate. I used Shell Blade on the nets to free myself, and stood, defiantly glaring at the humans.

Five tranquilizer guns raised. Five triggers were pulled. Five darts entered my skin as I fell, feeling myself fall under. This was it. I was captured. So in a last, desperate attempt to keep the Egg safe, I pulled every dart out of myself, and managed to stay awake for a little longer. Suddenly, a man dashed past, pushing me out of his way, and picked up the Egg.

"Oh, this looks like it'll hatch into something valuable," the man said, walking away.

That was it, I thought. They could imprison me, but no one was going to sell my sister's Egg like some cheap bag of Pokemon Food they found on the street. I unleashed a powerful Revenge on everything in sight.

Now that i think back to it, everything was a blur. I can remember picking up my sister's Egg and the sound of the ship falling apart. I remember a man yelling, "That thing's gone psycho! Get to the escape boats!"

I remember destroying the escape boats and freeing every Pokemon in an attempt to get Revenge. The I jumped into the water and began to swim to Huin with my sister's Egg, all the while watching other Pokemon escape the boat as it sank. I noticed Fearow fly away, and I swear I heard a "Thank you," from him as I swam away.

Re: A Wottery Story: The tale of a young Mijumaru

Interesting. I like the idea of Pokemon Poachers with tranquilizer guns. But you'll look like a fool if Mijimaru can't learn Revenge. :p

It was shown in a trailer that they can learn that move. I say GF predicted Miju would get all the hate and let it learn that as Payback <they should be able to know that too :D
