We all knew it was going to happen, but it's nice to finally have official confirmation. The first preview will air this weekend.

I'm so looking forward to this. It's awesome that Phil's back. ;)

Can't wait for this series. I just would how its going to completely fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I know ther series is set after the Avengers, but will characters from Marvel Comics make a appear. As long the appears are every several episodes, I'm completely fine with that.

Also, do we have a Marvel Cinematic Universe or general Marvel movies thread?

And on the show will air on Tuesdays at 8PM.

Just great, NCIS airs at the same time.

In the preview, a man who appears to be Luke Cage or someone similar is shown, so I'm guessing yes.

I'm pretty stoked! Hopefully it'll be good and successful!

(Also Phil's back yaaaaaaaaaaaay)

Marvel have since confirmed that the character is not Luke Cage. I would not be surprised if they use this TV show to introduce some of the lesser known heroes to the MCU though.

I'm a bit behind on saying this but, Marvel's Agents of SHIELD will be appearing at Comic-Con. They even have a billboard set up that is pretty much the SHIELD logo.

I liked it! It wasn't as epic as the first episode of Heroes was (...for some reason I keep comparing them), but it was nice to see Phil and Maria again and the humor was as good as in The Avengers. The new characters were great, especially the British boy and girl were just adorable.

They were definetily interesting and funny, I actually wonder what else is to come as this show isn't as much a show about people with powers but rather how those that don't have powers deal with those that do. Honestly it felt like a detective show but with supers and that felt really good for me.

I loved it but I am wondering what the deal is with Phil. They're not telling us something and that's bothering me a little. Yes, I know--they'll string us along throughout the entire season, dropping hints. It's still going to drive me nuts, though.

^ Oh yeah. Seriously guys,
do not irritate Nick Fury. Man, he can be a scary dude when upset.

Also, I'm thinking there may be something to the "Tahiti is magical" running joke. But I'm entirely sure as to what. It may have to do with how Coulson was spared or it could be a silly running gag. Gah, it's driving me crazy!

And I'm not too sure about Skye. One moment, it looks like she can be trusted then the next, not so much.

So I decided to give this show a try because why-not, and I watched the three so-far released episodes on Hulu...

... And it's good! Its not my absolute favorite show out there, but there's enough to keep my interest. As someone who isn't big on the Marvel movies (I've only seen Iron Man and Thor--I'm just not a movie person, sorry!), I appreciate that I can enjoy the show without needing info from the previous movies to really understand the plot. Like, yeah they'll make a reference here or there (like the code 0-8-4 thing from the second episode), but so far I haven't felt lost to the point of frustration, which is always good when you jump into an established franchise like this at such a random point.

My only concern is that the show gets kinda trope-y at times. Like when the Fitz-Simmons duo gets really complicated with their explanations and someone else in the team says something along the lines of, "Use Simple English please!" I was able to predict when this would happen in the third episode, which is not okay in my opinion. But it could be worse, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining.

Gah, I'm rambling! Anyway, I'm adding this to my list of Weekly Fall TV Shows (which is nice 'cause I didn't have anything for Tuesday before).

So apparently, that former SHIELD agent that Coulson rescued saw something with that cybernetic eye of hers; as to what, we weren't told. But she said outright that Coulson was different so we may not be dealing with the same guy here.

A friend of my postulated that:
Coulson may actually be the Vision, but he doesn't know it yet.

I don't think Coulson will become the Vision, unless they can find a way to do it with removing Coulson from the show.

Has anybody else been enjoying this series so far? I have been enjoying it. The one problem I do have is that I feel like people are giving it a chance to grow and develop a little more. The show is like 6 episodes in and their are still people disliking the show. I know I shouldn't let this get to me, but the show isn't like Arrow or Heroes.

Sorry for the long post, but I actually feel like this is a very important point about the show that we should discuss. I also think it's important for me to reiterate that I know little about the overall Marvel franchise since I've only seen Thor and Iron Man (the latter a LONG time ago).

So I enjoy this show, but I also think development could be better overall, especially for the characters. This is probably one of the weakest main casts I've ever seen in a TV show, and it unfortunately makes it a little difficult to dedicate about an hour of my time to watch it every week. Agent Coulson is obviously amazing, and Skye in my opinion is the only one who can really challenge Coulson's position as the best character in the show. But what do the other main characters really bring to the table? What are their personalities and past experiences like? Just who are they? Up until recently they were all a blur to me, and I just find that a little weird considering that we're already six (hour-long!) episodes into the series.

For example, this past week's episode was the first time I genuinely cared about Jemma & Fitz, and really the first time I even bothered to look at them as individual characters rather than an indistinguishable duo. I like Agent May because she's just so mysterious, and her character does the part well--but what's up with this "Calvary" nickname she was given? It was name-dropped a couple small times in I think episode 2, and that was simply it. I think we deserve just a little more info on what that's about. (Her relationship with Coulson is wonderful, however, and more than makes up for this.) And then there's Agent Ward... lulz.

I know the first season was picked up for 22 episodes, and that's PLENTY of time to get into the details. But if they plan to do a mid-season break (which is the norm), we're already halfway through the first part of the season without knowing a whole lot about the main characters. It would also be nice to know more about this Centipede project, which seems to be the overarching antagonist of the series (we do have the important basics down, and I'm not saying that they should beat us over the head with info about the project... but a little more wouldn't hurt).

TL;DR--It's a good show in my opinion, but I can totally understand why people might be disappointed so far, especially in regards to (the lack of) (character) development. The more I watch this show, the more I feel like it was made more as fanservice for the people already well-versed in the Marvel franchise, rather then to give everyone access to the Marvel world regardless of prior knowledge. Like, I'm starting to feel more and more like that person who knew nothing about Pokémon and thought it would be a great idea to enter the series by playing Pokémon Conquest, hahaha.

All right, as if we didn't have enough to ponder about with Coulson, it seems there may be some sort of secret in Skye's past. And the way it sounds, it could be a doozy.

And I totally didn't see Ward and May, you know...
