What would they look like/how would they work in the anime?

I want to see a Pokemon just start eating a berry mid battle.

A main problem is that abilities often rely on aspects of the game that don't convert well to the anime - turn, stats and HP based moves are very hard to demonstrate, and even then whether they get put down to specifically being abilities or just as a natural result. For example Ash's Pikachu has used the same tactic of 'Volt Absorb' in the past when it wasn't its ability, so how would you know if another Pokemon had that as an ability or just a tactic in battle.

To avoid that I think we've only really seen the abilities that can help the storyline along - static is a good way of turning a match while still seeming slightly legit. Likewise, the use of Blaze with Ash's Chimchar as being far more than just a slight boost in power, shows that the anime can adapt these abilities to be more than simply trying to level things out in the games. I suppose you could also suggest that perhaps Iris' Axew has Rivalry as its ability, but that manifests as part of its bromance with Scraggy rather than an in battle example.

So it's hard to imagine what they look like when I can't imagine half that list being possible at all. The weather ones are probably the easiest to achieve - I'd love to see Misty's Psyduck return and show off Cloud Nine by walking out bemused at the concept of rain, tilting its head, letting out a "Psy", and having all the rain suddenly disappear.

What I meant was:How would you animate/have them work in the anime?
