AbilityShipping (Ash+Anabel) Thread

This thread is for discussion of AbilityShipping, the belief that Anabel, Salon Maiden of the Battle Tower, and Ash have feelings for each other.

I'll begin the thread with the biggest clue:

At the end of "Battle Tower! Telepathy Battle!!" Ash and Anabel shake hands. As Ash leaves, Anabel then looks at her hand, blushes, and thinks to herself "You never did read my heart correctly, Satoshi." Other commonly accepted AbilityShipping clues include how well Ash and Anabel got along from the moment they first met.

This is actually the second AbilityShipping thread here, Hikarii.

There's a lot of goodness between the two-parter, but the recent update is most interesting: If Ash wins his battle against Brandon then he wins a candidacy to be a Frontier Brain. If he does end up becoming one, how do you think it will affect his relationship with Anabel?

FabuVinny's right. I bet that the Anabel romance was an early hint---if he becomes a Brain (which I see very likely, as it would mean he accomplished the goal of becoming a Pokémon Master) Anabel I think would very likely make a return.

Of course there was that whole ending scene with the handshake, blushing, and silent admission by Anabel, but I also thought this was huge:

When Ash and Anabel are splashing around together in the water, the camera zooms out and shows May and Brock watching them. The two laugh awkwardly and remark upon how well Ash and Anabel seem to be getting along.

That and the time when Ash/Anabel are sitting next to each other, covered in seaweed.

I thought there was a case for Abilityshipping even before that ending scene, which merely made it canon (as a one-sider, at least.)

I always believed in this- as a onesided canon, at least.
That relationship is not even implied. It's there, big and bold and obvious and in-your-face. Anabel has a (rather) large crush on Ash.

I'm saying this as someone who's actually a Pokeshipper on occasion.

The problem is Ash reciprocating. Since he's pretty famous for never ending up with anyone, if you want to be realistic, then far-into-the-future speculative fanfiction is the only way to further their relationship (considering that she's a side character from a tiny span of episodes in a past season).
But I really respect and admire their potential.

This was just a thought that I had a few weeks ago...

With the release of Pokemon Platinum came the 2nd Set of Frontier Brains.

Assuming that Scott also owns this new Frontier as well, he would most likely want to invite Ash to take this new challenge. He might invite him personally, or someone else might beat him to it... someone who would volunteer herself to be the messenger instead...
