I'm sure some of you must have read the fanfic I am currently working on, 404 Error. Well, here is where I will put character bios, and compile the Pokedex entries for the Glitch Pokemon that appear in the story.

WARNING: Big, big, huge, major, massive spoilers lie ahead, so if you haven't read up to the latest chapter, you might not want to go any further into this thread. You have been warned, so don't say you haven't. Because you have.

Character bios;

Red Vershunn: A Pokemon Trainer hailing from the Kanto region. A strange set of circumstances resulted in his being transported to the mysterious and strange Tanko region, where the terrain is random and screwy, the sun is scrambled and pixelly, and numbers are eaten as sustenance. He desperately desires answers as to why he wound up in the Tanko Region, though as his journey progresses, he is finding himself less and less willing to return to Kanto. His name is a pun on Red Version, and he is obviously based off the player character from aforementioned game.

Orange McPixel: A Pokemon Trainer born in Miliovern City before his parents up and moved to Talpel Town. Orange is rather hasty, and while not unintelligent, is nevertheless prone to having his moments of stupidity. Many consider him to be annoying, though Violet hangs out with him in spite of this. Maybe even because of it. The two have been friends ever since Orange saved Violet from a bunch of Team Error Grunts with his mother's pet Pikachu, and have even progressed to being a couple. Orange's name is derived from the old tradition of naming major characters after colors, and the fact that Glitch Pokemon are generally portrayed as orange and purple. His last name is derived from "pixel".

Violet Scramble: A Pokemon Trainer from Talpel Town. Bossy by nature, and with an attitude to boot, Violet was never the most popular girl in town, in spite of her natural good looks. Orange was more or less the only kid who was stubborn enough to put up with her bossy attitude, and the two became friends not long after meeting. In fact, they are currently boyfriend and girlfriend. Violet's name is derived from the old tradition of naming major characters after colors, and the fact that Glitch Pokemon are generally portrayed as orange and purple. Her last name is just "scramble", which is what one might describe the sprites of most Glitch Pokemon as looking like-scrambles.

FAQ:
Q: What gave you the idea to write 404 Error in the first place?
A: Initially, it came to me in the form of an idea for a further installment of my other fanfic, The Adventure of Adventureness. However, at the time, the previous two installments involved the characters traveling around and collecting badges, and I figured the premise was getting a little repetitive for that particular story. Nevertheless, the idea always stuck with me, and near the end of The Adventure of Adventureness's run, I decided to work it into its own story, and 404 Error was born.

Q: How do you come up with the Pokedex entries for the Glitch Pokemon?
A: I work with what I have. Take .4 for instance- its signature move involves it exploding without being knocked out. This makes me think of .4 as a creature with limitless energy if it is able to explode repeatedly without knocking itself out, so I wrote it in as a species that is constantly hyperactive, gibbering constantly and zipping about speedily, with the Pokedex classification of Caffeine Pokemon. Other times, I just go by their types, hence the Water/Psychic 44Hy and Q being known as the Riverside Pokemon and the Deep Sea Pokemon, respectively. 7g, on the other hand, being a Slowpoke hybrid, that is what its behavior and Pokedex classification draws from.

Q: How am I supposed to picture the Glitch Pokemon in my head?
A: The way I do it is, in the case of the ones with blocky sprites, I look at the sprite as a frontal view of the Pokemon, with the whole thing being a cube-shaped object that looks the same on all sides. Obviously, some won't be perfect cubes, of course, like the rectangular A, or the jagged-bottomed .4. Also, in the case of 'M, and the Missingno. form that looks like 'M, the sprite, to me, represents a side view rather than a frontal view, with the portion that sticks out to the left containing the face. Seriously, look at that closely, and you'll see what I mean, you'll see the eye and mouth. Obviously, the ghostly and skeletal forms of Missingno. should be much easier to imagine.

Q: How do you decide how the Glitch moves work?
A: I draw from their animations and effects. TM05, of course, doesn't actually turn the user invisible, but in the games, it's portrayed as a move where the user hits the foe and then increases evasion. So I portray it as the user going in to tackle the foe, but pulling out at the last second and turning invisible. TM28 is easy, it's just an explosion. TM09 has the effects of Explosion with the animation of Fire Punch, so I portray it as the user catching fire, then tackling the foe resulting in a catastrophic explosion. HM02 has no animation- that bit pretty much wrote itself, actually. Think about it- a move that you can't actually tell when it's being used, that saps the energy of a Pokemon, known only by a friggin' Ghost-type? I know it wasn't intentional, but if I didn't know that, I'd swear it was.

Q: How do you decide what nicknames Violet gives her Pokemon?
A: Pretty much just whatever pops into my head. Skelefly, however, was the nickname I gave the very first Aerodactyl Skeleton Missingno. I ever caught, so I knew from the start that Violet's would be named as such.

Q: Did you know from the start that Violet and Red would get together?
A: Yep. :) That was decided on before the first chapter was even finished. You have no idea how difficult it was to not comment on it when so many people kept asking whether they would or not.

Q: What inspired the freeze arches?
A: When you do the Glitch City trick, if you do the variation where you Surf up and down the coast of Cinnabar Island, the Glitch City you end up in will contain a cave entrance, though if you walk into it, instead of entering a cave you just get stuck in place. That's what inspired freeze arches.

Q: Hey, it says on Bulbapedia that 44Hy and Q can't learn any TMs! How did Orange's Q learn BubbleBeam?
A: Some of the Bulbapedia articles have incomplete information in that respect. Any Glitch Pokemon article where they haven't bothered to look into TM/HM compatibility will just state that they can't learn any TMs. However, any hybrid Glitch Pokemon will be compatible with the same TMs and HMs as the Pokemon they are a hybrid of. Q is a Starmie hybrid, so compatibility with moves such as BubbleBeam, Psywave, and Psychic is a given.

Q: Why do you seem to take such great liberties with the heights and weights of Glitch Pokemon?
A: To make it a little more easier for the characters to interact with them. A lot of them are extremely large and heavy, so as 44Hy's Pokedex entry clues you in, their given heights are not the standards for the species, but rather the measurements of the largest known specimen.

Q: How do you pronounce the names of the Glitch Pokemon?
A: Well, the way I do it is...
44Hy; Four four hi (pronounced like the number 4, and the word "hi" is pronounced just as if you were greeting someone)

.4; Point four

Q; the same as if you were saying the letter "Q".

Z4; Z four, pronounced exactly like the letter and the number.

A; the same as if you were saying the letter "A".

LM4; just sound it out. The letter "L", the letter "M", and the number four.

pPkMnp; same as above, just spell it.

7g; Seven g, pronounced exactly like the number and the letter.

'M; the same as if you were saying the letter "M".

h Poké; the letter "H", followed by the word Poké, pronounced "poh-kay".

Missingno.; the word "missing", and the word "no". If you can pronounce those words, you can pronounce Missingno.

Sounds interesting. I like seeing glitch Pokemon incorporated into a fanfic. Do you plan on adding any more?
