This may be a dumb question, but please bear with me.

Does Japan air the Porygon episode with the changes made to the other episodes? I was just curious if anyone knew about its current status.

The Porygon episode never aired again after what happened (and wasn't released to video/DVD/anything)

I'm pretty sure it was banned by the Japanese goverment.

Any show that puts hundreds of it's viewers in hospital just for watching would get that treatment.

Would it be considered illegal to obtain though, since it's banned? The only episodes banned for Pocket Monsters that affects all other countries that produce Pokemon are this Porygon episode and the Whiscash earthquaking episode, which I don't think was aired at all.

Considering the only way to get it involves breaking copyright laws, yes, of course it's illegal to obtain it.

They wont show the tentacruel episode either because it'll upset the Americans and their 9/11.

Are you stupid or something? Why bother bringing it up?

There's a gigantic difference between the two episodes.

For one thing, people have "gotten over" 9/11 (they made a fucking movie out of it.) So I highly doubt that they would not show an episode of an anime that aired years before the event occured just to not offend people who probably don't care any longer.

Secondly, the Porygon episode is banned because it itself put people in hospital. TV shows aren't ment to give people seizures.

And, from what I know, Porygon episode were banned by Japenese government, while Tentacuel and Tentacruel were banned by Kids WB and only in USA (or there were other country who banned it?).

Excuse me? The Wishcash episode never aired because of a major earthquake in Japan. Americans aren't the only ones who get all weird about their crisis.
As they say in Latin:
tu genliam non habes.

They could release the Whiscash ep now, it's been years since the earthquake, few people will remember it.

I realize that, but I will not stand fro people making jabs at any country for being sensitive about events that ended in a lot of death/and or lots of money lost.

By years you mean only 4 or so.

Also it actually happened in Japan, which probably would have a bigger impact for them then 9/11 (which occured halfway across the world for them).

Besides, there'd be no point in airing a useless filler episode from a season long since past.

Well, that AG101 ep was the first episode Barboach appeared. Even if that's not significant for anything, I still would like to know what happened.

Ash encountered a Barboach. The Barboach was causing some problems for a character of the day or people he knew. The character of the day explained this fact to Ash and he became determined to do something to help. Team Rocket tried to steal the Barboach and Pikachu, Ash saves them both and in the process the issues that was causing the problems for the Character of the Day and/or the people he knew were resolved. The group heads on to meet the next Character of the Day, the Pokemon that's causing them or people they know some issues and rinse/repeat.

The Porygon episode's my favorite, and I'd really love to see it in English. Since nobody cares anymore, I'm sure they could easily dub it, make the modifications, and air it. They could even re-unite the old 4Kids cast for one final episode!

Considering how much time has passed, I still don't get why its still taboo to feature the Porygon line in the anime. It has been 10 whole years since the writers avoided that Pokemon, hasn't the "harm" worn off by now?

Kids see the Porygon line in the videogames all the time, its not like it brings back "bad memories" or the like to the current fanbase. Not to mention all was pretty much forgiven a decade ago when the anime was continued in Japan.

I still really hope someday a future D/P episode will confirm a small arc centering on all three stages of Porygon. Since the D/P series seems to favor small mini-arcs, a 2-parter about the whole Porygon family would be nice.

I know, totally, people aren't that sensitive. Hell, I'm sure they could've aired an edited version right where it should have been in the episode order, and aside from a tiny protest from soccer moms (whose autistic and OCD kid told them everything about the episode) that really didn't receive any attention, nobody would really notice or make a big deal over it.

In regards to the actual seizure episode, weren't the tapes destroyed after it aired? Or is that just an urban legend?
