I don't have an action replay yet and i was looking at some codes online but i don't trust a lot of them. So i was wondering what codes do the members here use since some of you have them and probably more trustworthy. Sorry if this thread has been started before and plz don't post if it a rant against action replays.

Where do you think the other people here have got their codes? That's right, by looking up them on the Internet. :p AR rant here

Soooooo surprised no one has flamed this thread yet.

But I agree with UltimateSephiroth. As AR users, we have to be willing to risk our save files and what not with every new code we put into our devices. It's just something you gotta do, to keep things balanced, ya know?

ok i will use those codes that i find just gotta wait till i move all my good pokemon to heartgold first

Don't use all of them.. Stuff that you find that say something like "Ultimate pokemon" are usually bad pokesaved pokemon. You might want to be cautious about what codes you use.

i was most likely only use items codes and if there is one that clone pokemon then thats about it. but thanks for the warning

Eh... I gave my friend a bad egg by mistake... but i still like them. I use them for almost every game now, but I only get codes from supercheats.

The only AR code that i found safe to use was the national dex completion one

I find the use of codes to violate the entire point of the games. Because someone had to say it.

I can see one legitimate use for AR codes, and that is for event specific Pokemon or items. Considering Nintendo only runs these events in certain countries (and even then only in certain areas of these countries), it is often AR codes which allows those unable to participate in those events to still receive the benefits.

Yes there is an argument to be made about these event Pokemon being available for trade, but let's face it, not all who play these games have (nor try to get) special Pokemon such as shinnies, or Pokemon with very specific stats. They are simply play the games, enjoy them, but wish they could have some of the event Pokemon Nintendo announces every now and then. So trading for one may be problematic, as the person willing to trade one of these event Pokemon, may demand in return something a casual player may not have even heard of, much less acquired.

So yeah, while I normally detest AR codes, I can see, in part, a genuine use for them.

As I've stated elsewhere on the site, I'm from Canada so I 100% endorse the use of GS/AR for use on event Pokemon. We've never had a single event except for Wi-Fi events (Member Card, Oak's Letter, Secret Key). ARing for items is questionable, and ARing for stuff like shinies and stuff like that is just plain dirty cheating.

Do DS ARs come preloaded with codes? (I only have the GBC/GBA GameSharks, I got my Arceus off an AR-owning friend). From my experience those are usually safe.

That is reasonable, I know a lot of people that use the Action Replay to get event Pokemon.

The DS Action Replays do come preloaded with some codes. If I remember correctly one of the ones that they are selling advertises on the box that it has codes for Diamond and Pearl on it. If you do buy one though it comes with software to load onto your computer where you can enter more codes then hook it to the Action Replay with the cord provided to update. You can also enter the codes manually if you wish to, but it takes some time for the longer ones.

The only places that I know of so far to get Action Replay codes are Supercheats, Neoseeker, and CodeJunkies. (The last one is where the computer software gets the preloaded cheats)
