American actor David Carradine has been found dead in a Bangkok, Thailand, hotel, according to his personal manager, Chuck Binder.

Binder said Thursday that the death is being investigated but could provide no other details.

Carradine's death was "shocking and sad. He was full of life, always wanting to work ... a great person," Binder said, according to People magazine.

Carradine, who became famous in the 1970s when he starred as Kwai Chang Caine in the television series "Kung Fu," was 72.

Modern audiences may best know him as "Bill" in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" films.

His career included more than 100 feature films, two dozen television movies and theater work, according to the Internet Movie Database.

Carradine, who was married five times and divorced four, is survived by his widow, Annie Bierman, according to People magazine.

He was the son of actor John Carradine.

"David's career as an artist did not begin on the stage, though some of his early career was on and off Broadway. His earliest work was as a sculptor and painter," Carradine's official Web site says.

new reports are coming in that he wasn't just found dead
he was found hanged

RIP. It really shocked me when I found out, especially considering that it seems to involve suicide rather than just him being up there in age. =(

Edit: apparently found hanged, so that'd be suicide, not foul play (which I first said). My bad.

COULD still mean foul play (does seem unlikely, but...who knows?). Have to wait for the investigation to conclude.

um, guys?
I'm not sure how to say this, but...
according to his agent and his wife, it wasn't suicide and it wasn't murder...
can you think of an "other" reason, why a man might choke himself?

ironic that he was in something called, "my suicide."

Either way, I hope that they figure out what the heck happened.

o_O

I remember an episode of Dr. G: Medical Examiner where a kid died in his room with his katare belt around his neck. His family was adamant it wasn't a suicide. It turned out that he was most likely doing the choking game, using his belt to temporarily cut off blood flow to his brain... except that since he was unconscious, he couldn't untie the belt.

But I seriously doubt this was the case here. <.<

Well, when I was in first or second grade, a sixth grade tried to scare his mom by jumping off his bed with a karate belt wrapped around his neck. Obviously, he didn't make it out. It wasn't suicide and it wasn't murder. Total unintentional death.

you didn't have to explain it in such detail

but the hotel maid found him naked with a belt around his neck and around his, umm...

his neck and around his, umm...
Penis?

Well, Bison II, found another possibility: auto-erotic asphyxiation (another news article concerning him). Still odd that he would go for hanging without a partner or someone around, though... unless the intent was to die in the throes of pleasure? o_O

That is so sad about his death, although I heard of the guy (only from Kill Bill 2), I kinda don't know who he is. But may he Rest in Peace.
