One of the most fun things for me to write is someone telling a story. Since the Pokemon world is very similar to our world, I figured that some stories from our world might appear in the Pokeworld too. So in this thread, I will show you how I Pokemonize a story for Brock or another storyteller to tell.
--Animal tales are the easiest to Pokemonize--to a point. If a tale features an animal that hasn't yet been made a Pokemon, I will use a Pokemon that resembles the animal in question.
--Tales from Asia are my primary source of inspiration (as a nod to Pokemon's Japanese roots). But no matter where it is from, if the tale refers to something that wouldn't make sense in the Pokeworld, or would be hard to adapt to the Pokeworld, it is rejected.
So for example, let's say I wanted to Pokemonize the following: uExpress.com: Tell Me A Story by Amy Friedman and Jillian Gilliland -- (10/21/2007) adapted by Amy Friedman and illustrated by Jillian Gilliland
I would start by saying the magical bird in the story was either Ho'oh or Lugia (as both have been known to heal things). The magical horse would turn into a Shiny Ponyta, and the giant would probably turn into the Ghost/monstrous Pokemon of the teller's choice (or, depending on the teller, I will leave it a giant) The soul might become Mew or Jirachi, and the mule drivers would turn into Pokemon trainers.
Of course, not every tale is this easy--I have had to tweak the plot to make sense in the Pokeworld.
If you have any questions, or have a tale I could Pokemonize, let me know!
