Hi guys! Last night I tried to do a recolor of Red's HGSS sprite. This is my first recolour so please critique it. I know this is just a piece of junk but... please help me!

EDIT: I moved the sprite to the sprite folder below...

Sprites folder:
The "Dark Red"
Volkner with Flint's colors

Volkner with Flint's colors VS Sprite
Flint with Volkner's colors

Flint with Volkner's colors VS Sprite
Young Lance (without cape)
Crimson Charizard
Blue Charizard
Joltreon
Magmabuzz
Chimchu
Pikaferno
Raifernape
Deathwing (Dark Salamence)

Blue Manaphy (Blastoise colors)

An avatar I made for my friend....

PS. Please don't insult them... maybe they're not very good... but I'm just starting out....

I'm not a spriter, but I think it looks nice. Did you use Photoshop? ^_^

That was great. Not only was it good, but I like the color scheme.

We need some proper critique here.

First of, look at his shoes. One shoe looks distorted.

The outline is almost all black, you need to fix that.

And there's something I quite can't put my finger on that makes me not like the recolor.

Well, I made almost all of the outline black 'cause I used dark colors. But, I'll try to fix it

Very nice edits. It is a bit hard to critique recolors as it is very difficult to mess a recolor up, but I like them!

@Muffin: I've been remaking the "Dark Red", but I haven't finished it...(My brother wants to play with my laptop while I'm doing it)

And this is a Charizard with Charmeleon's colours!

Its OK in the way of recolors. The color scheme is a bit generic though. I would have adored to see a SkyBlue and a Yellow color scheme, but we can't have everything.

Well, I made it matched Charmeleon's colors because I don't like how Charmander & Charizard have the same colors meanwhile Charmeleon's colors are different

EDIT: Here is the "Dark Red"! Though he's not as dark as he used to.... Is he better? Same? Or worse?

The shoes look better, but I think that the darker red looks better.

No.

I liked the other one better. I just wanted you to just tone down on the "black everywhere."

EDIT3: C'mon... please post here and critique my sprites, guys! Now I tried to splice Flareon and Jolteon. Since this is my very first splice, this is probably the ugliest sprite in the alcove... please critique!

EDIT: I have made 2 new splices... Magmar/Electabuzz and Chimchar/Pichu... please critique them!


Magmabuz... this one is very hard... what do you think?


Chimchu... this one is not so hard... is it good?
