An AdvantageShipping (Bugsy/Sabrina) related fic. Contains Russian words, but is predominantly an English language fic.
Your friendly neighborhood Toron Bon, at your service!
So I had this fic in the works for... checks history about a month and I figured writing this was taking a bit too long and my fic production was going real slow so hey, why not break this into chapters instead of just making it all one overly long fic? This'll be one of my most ambitious works, I feel, since this fic takes place in an all new Pokémon region, one that I came up with myself. I'll see if I can get this right. But if I fail, eh, I tried lol.

I'll try to get chapters of this out at a decent rate. Try, can't guarantee due to my recent efficiency, but I'll try my best to not leave this hanging. Whatever case, let us begin.

Chapter 1: The Arrival New

Stranger in Frostcow

Chapter 1: The Arrival

Frostcow, Rossnia Region, 6:31am

Bugsy, we made it.Sabrina telepathically spoke to Bugsy.

The bug specialist yawned as he stirred himself awake. He looked around, first landing his sight on Sabrina, who was seated beside him, and then the window beside him. It was slightly dark and snowing outside.
“Ugh.. Huh? How long was I out?” He asked as he rubbed his eyes.

“Almost the whole flight.” Sabrina stood up and stretched a little, her bones also a bit stiff from sitting for such a long trip. “Hrrrrm… Are you alright, Bugsy?”

“Yeah. I’m good. Ready to check out this place!” Bugsy rose from his seat, a little pep in his step already. “After you, Sabrina.”

Sabrina took the kind gesture, waited for the right moment, and then led Bugsy down the aisle and into the bustling airport. “Our luggage is at baggage claim.” She advised as they walked out.

Bugsy looked at the nearby signs to try and find where the baggage claim was. However, he just got a little confused. He got a bit of an idea where things were thanks to the visuals, but he couldn’t read any of the prominent text. English text was secondary on the signs!
“Um… Is that the local language of Rossnia?” He asked.

“Correct. Allow me to lead, Bugsy.” Sabrina took the Johto boy’s hand and led him towards baggage claim.

While going down the escalators, the bug catcher checked his Pokégear. 1am? It’s much a little too bright to be 1. He’s enough of an early bird to tell the time based on the sky.
“Hey Sabrina, sorry to bother you again but what time is it?” He asked. “I could’ve sworn we left the Saffron airport at 8pm…”

“6:35am.” Sabrina answered. “Adjust your clock. Rossnia is 5 hours ahead of Kanto-Johto time.”

“5 hours?!” Bugsy’s eyes grew wide at the news. He wasn’t used to that kind of time zone difference. Like, Unova is only 2 hours ahead of Kanto-Johto time and Paldea is about an hour behind Kanto-Johto time, but 5 hours ahead?!

Sabrina nodded.
“Indeed. I also suggest putting on your coat.” She advised once they arrived at baggage claim. She used her telepathy to pick up their suitcases once they came by on the conveyor belt. “I can tell this won’t be easy for you to adjust to. Frankly, I was always worried you would have problems with getting along here…” She lamented as she unzipped her suitcase just a little to grab her jacket, put it on, and closed her suitcase back up.

Bugsy chuckled nervously before sending out Scizor to handle their luggage.
“I’ve never been here before, Sabrina! Sorry, but could you be my guide around this place?” He rubbed the back of his head before fishing into his satchel to grab his jacket to put on.

The Saffron girl put on mitts and a peculiar hat before putting her eyes back on Bugsy.
“I suppose I could do that, but I’ve never taken anyone along with me here before. Nobody other than my Po- Oh!” She felt one of her Pokéballs wiggle, specifically the one that held Alakazam. “Someone’s excited to be home.”

Alakazam released himself from the confines of his spherical capsule. “Name a time I’m not excited to be home, Sabrina.” He laughed a bit before levitating ahead. An unusual sight to be sure.

Sabrina giggled a bit before turning to Bugsy again.
“Well Bugsy, I suppose it's about time I told you.” She grabbed his hand and followed Alakazam, leaving the airport and stepping out into the snowy morning. “Welcome to the region of Rossnia.”

Bugsy followed behind and was immediately taken aback by the bright lights. It almost reminded him of Saffron City if it had a few cathedrals and it was ever so slightly less bustling. In fact, its activity was more akin to Goldenrod City’s. “Whoa… It’s…” He didn’t know what to say exactly.

Sabrina looked at the awestruck Bugsy. Seeing him amazed by the city’s liveliness warmed her up just a bit internally.
“Ice-types are fairly common around here because of its generally colder climate. This might make your Bug-types a little difficult to adapt to.” She warned, using an attempt at Pokémon ecology lingo to appease Bugsy’s researcher side.

“It’s okay. I know Pinsir probably wouldn’t like this place…” Bugsy chuckled before looking back at Scizor. “You can handle the cold, right buddy?”

Scizor gave a firm nod. “I can tolerate it.” She actually kind of valued the cold since it helped her body heat stay low. “Where’s the brainiac? I ain’t letting him leave me to the suitcases all day.”

Sabrina looked around before finding Alakazam making a snowman for some younger trainers outside of a cafe. “There he is.” She said as she led the way to the cafe. Then an idea popped into her head. “Actually, watch this.”

Alakazam took a little bow as the children clapped at his little magic trick. “Thank you. Thank you. It’s my pleasure.”

“Alakazam! We’re ordering your favorite!” Sabrina called out.

Almost immediately, the Psychic-type teleported to the side of his trainer.
“Rossnian Beedrill Honey Medovik?!” He asked, sounding almost like a kid in a candy store.

“Mhm.” Sabrina nodded before gesturing to the cafe's entrance with her free hand’s thumb. Alakazam was quick to enter, sparking a little giggle from the psychic. Before entering, she took a moment to glance at Bugsy. “Are you hungry?”

Bugsy looked up at the cafe’s lit up sign, which was somewhat covered in snow. However, that wasn’t the thing making it hard to read, he could identify the detail of a happy Charmeleon holding a baked treat of sorts, but it was the Rossnian language that had him confused. Still, if Sabrina trusted it, he probably should too. He was pretty hungry after the long flight anyway. “Sure!” He said before stepping up and opening the door for Sabrina. “After you.”

“Thank you.” Sabrina smiled warmly at the kind offer and entered the establishment, gesturing for Bugsy’s Scizor to follow. Scizor did, of course, but not before having to nudge Bugsy to snap him out of the trace Sabrina’s smile seemed to put him in for a moment.
