Advent Children leaked

The funny thing is the official release date of the DVD is supposed to be TOMORROW (9/13).

Yup, it's been leaked... and watched.

The battle scenes at first seemed like FF7 wankfests, but on second thought since we're dealing with 100-level characters anything less would feel wrong. The Turks get their own share of action. Definitely dead people stay dead, but show up anyway. (But Rufus lived. Not a spoiler, since you meet him within the first few minutes.) Great motorcycle combat. Much better aerial combat than Matrix Revolutions. Final Fantasy Theme played during end credits.

Unfortunately, Tifa felt like she got nerfed. Most other characters show up only briefly, but mostly Cloud's the only one doing damage.
Lots of references to the game. If you haven't played it, or at least read the entire plot (can be found on GameFAQs), you probably won't get it all. I didn't.
Cloud's weapon: swiss army buster sword. The kind of awesome and completely unrealistic weapon you can expect from Square.
No blood. Wounds that should bleed or even gush don't.

Clearly, the west cares not for either Pokémon or Pocket Monsters, even if Japan still does, to some weaker degree...

Or perhaps that had something to do with Japanese subtitles being present already.

The speed and effeciency of this kind of leak, and then fansub, are only possible when people are interested... extremely, deeply, fanatically interested, and with connections... speaking of connections, considering that it will be the 10th anniversary of Pokémon soon, I wonder if any of the older fans of the original have found insider positions at Game Freak, Creatures, OLM or even the Pokémon Company, Nintendo or TV Tokyo yet...

I don't think Ruby/Sapphire can be used as an example. Especially since there are people who would buy both copies (like me...). You wouldn't need to buy two copies of FFX.

I'm going to be lazy and just copy and paste what I wrote over at Toon Zone.

I saw the movie yesterday, and it was very obvious to me that it was created with Americans in mind, and it's not just because they already list the people responsible for the English version in the credits. A good 3/4 of the movie is nothing but fighting, and a lot of the movie seemed to be really really fanservice-y.

The cell phone ringtone was great. I hope Square-Enix realize how much money they'd make if they offered the ringtone for sale on their website. I'd sure as hell download it.

I liked how the movie tackled certain video game to real life transitions, such as showing just HOW Materia is used and how random monster encounters work.

And just like in the video games, the Turks are the most interesting characters.

The movie requires you to completely forget anything you've ever learned in Physics class. Once you understand that the film uses the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon laws of physics, you start to enjoy it so much more.

I was having flashbacks to One Piece when I saw the Bahamut. At least in this movie, nobody got shot right in the face and then walked away from it as if nothing happened.

When all is said and done, I thought it was a good movie, and I thought FF7 was terrible. I was a little skeptical going into the film, remembering the atrocity that was "The Spirits Within," but I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how awesome this movie was.

Great. Now will VI ever get the respect it deserves?

Probably never ;_; Everybody's too busy popping a boner over all this new FF7 stuff to even pay attention to any of the other ten games in the series.

I suspect if it was created with the Japanese in mind, it'd be Cloud being angsty, having flashbacks, and making longwinded speeches about what truly matters and how you have to walk a man's path in life and etc. Then add in a few weepy scenes commemorating Aeris and you're done. :p

Only if Fukuda of Gundam Seed Destiny infamy directed it.
