Advice on building and a better team? :)

Hi, Im new on the forums. I have a contest competitive battle with 4 of my friends who all have the ruby/saphire/emerald versions. I was wondering what do you I should improve on my team? Does it need a complete change? Is my team a good start to a good competitive team? The conditions in my contest is that legendaries are not permited.

please note that this is my first time playing ruby and I have not beaten the game. I am not common with the New pokemon because im used to Cystal Version and below :XD2:

Yep, but if you have two other pokemon it would be nice to add them. This is to competitve battling, right?

yep, competitive battle. I really need help building my team because Im not familiar with the changes of pokemon and battling from my avid yellow pokemon playing games and ruby. So any info you have would be a great help

you have good pokemon there, but the move set is a bit lacking for competive. more powerful moves would be useful, like for vibrava, the bite should be replaced.

I have thought about changing up the pokemon. I have yet to complete the game but i was wondering if i should change up the pokemon. I thought of getting a metacross and magneton. Good idea?

i'm thinking no to the magneton but yes to Metagross, another good Pokemon would be something like a Grass type, and get an Ice type move in there like replace Seadra's Water Gun with Ice Beam or Blizzard and it needs a better Dragon move! also, for vibrava, ditch bite for aground move, like Dig or Earthquake

I'd suggest evolving your Seadra and Vibrava.

oh and also, iron does absolutely no good if you just let them hold it! you have to feed it to them!

LOL, oh i know. I gave it to him to hold because i wasnt anywhere close to a pokecentre to deposit it and i didnt want to throw out any items to pick up a calcium. thanks for the advice!
