Obs: This is NOT an speculation thread.

Screens from the 11th Movie sort of confirm Gligar's evolution. If it really happens, how are the writers going to handle two of the same Pokémon in rival parties? How will they interact with each other? Do you think Paul will release or store Gliscor before that?

Do you think Paul will release or store Gliscor before that?
Yes, this is exactly what I think. No Pokémon has its place in Paul's roster warranted. That's the main rule about Paul people tends to forget.

Methinks the way to differentiate those two would be by personality and possibly gender (although I'm not sure how it's gonna work, because Gliscors have no physical differences between genders), and also by battle styles. Ash and Paul have different battle styles, so I think these two will have a difference in moves.

I expect at least one showdown between Ash's Gliscor and Paul's Gliscor before Paul does anything with it.

I think Gliscor will be Ash's first TRUE release since Butterfree, because it just doesn't seem liek an Ashy Pokemon.

Donphan and Herracross don't seem like Ashy Pokemon, but there they are. Hell, Butterfree isn't even an Ashy Pokemon. Really, there's no set pattern to his Pokemon, they're just random and most of them can walk on 2 legs.

LOL You know what would be funny? If Pauls was a girl and Ash was a boy and they fell in love with each otherXD
Oh the Ash/Paul shippers would have a feild day with that one LOL

Edit;

This way it would be really different.

They can't not have Gliscor on Paul's team. The opportunity for a Gliscor rivalry is too great.

A Gliscor rivalry would be good though. The old leader of the pack vs. the young gun. That would be sweet.

Maybe they will do more with the rivalry before its evolution. It could deck Pauls Gliscor as a Gligar and Paul could release Gliscor for losing to its prevolution. I think that would do more to explain its quick evolution and give it a more completed saga. We do know how Ash hates his fully evolved pokemon and Gliscors dont look exactly full of personality so i hope Gligar gets alot of focus before then.

I am already under the impression that this rivalry will be flashback-heavy, given how Ash's Gligar's days as one portrayed it as a joker/loyal follower.

Then again, this might be done out of bragging rights.
