Tyce and Alexia had decided that after college, they wanted to go somewhere new and fresh. They wanted to go to Sinnoh. Tyce wanted to try something new, and decided to participate in Gym Battles, while Alexia stayed true to contests.

Tyce was hardened. After four years through hell, Tyce had become hardened. As the years went on his training and battle styles, became more and more harsh. Realizing that harsh battle styles had no place in contests, Tyce thought he would try his hand at gym battles. Upon agreeing with Alexia to go to Sinnoh, Tyce had sent all his Pokemon, except Buizel back to Slateport. Buizel had pretty much remained the same immature otter throughout his college experience, which is the only thing that prevents Tyce from using outright brutal strategies. Tyce realized that Canalave City was coming into view. Tyce poked Alexia, "Look...Its Sinnoh."

"It's so beautiful!"

Alexia beamed at the sight of the new land she was about to explore. Serena, Dawn, and Kitty were at her side and seemed excited as well.

"What do you think ladies? Should we win some contests here!?"

The three Pokemon all responded in a determined and happy tone.

Alexia had graduated from The Knight Pokemon University with flying colors. Her appeals and battle techniques had improved immensely over the years and she was ready to take on the world.

"Are you ready Tyce?"
 
Tyce looked back towards Alexia. Somehow after four years of college, where it was more likely to die than get good grades, Tyce and Alexia had remained friends. "Yeah I'm ready."

The boat bellowed as it docked at Canalave City. Tyce had never been to Sinnoh before. Its air was much crisper and more cool than Hoenn's. Tyce took a deep breath then walked off the boat onto land unfamiliar to him.
 
Alexia returned her pokemon and stepped off the boat as well. The forests here were beautiful! They were so different from the forests of Hoenn.

"Oh, I can't wait to see all the different kinds of Pokemon here!"
 
The first thing Tyce noticed when he got off the boat, was the Canalave Gym which was across the waterway. He knew he would need more than just Buizel to get past any of the gyms.

A lady wearing a silver dress appeared next to Tyce and Alexia. She looked at Tyce's Buizel. "Wat een zwakke Pokémon is dat." She said in a thick Dutch accent. "What did you say?" asked Tyce knowing that what she said was no good. "I said that your Buizel is weak. If you wish to see strength, here is strength." She unclipped a Pokeball from the belt on her dress and called out a gargantuan Pokemon.

A Metagross towered over Buizel. Buizel was unafraid and the fins on its arms started glowing signaling it was readying to use Razor Wind. "No Buizel." Tyce said. Buizel lowered his arms and stuck his tongue out at the Metagross. Tyce then turned toward Alexia and said, "I need more Pokemon."

"Do you want me to take her on?"

Alexia got a determined look on her face. Then thought better of it and calmed down.

"No never mind..."
 
"Do you not recognize me?" the silver clad lady asked. Tyce gave a blank stare. "I willz take dat as a no. My name iz Gertrude, and I am the Gym Leader of Canalave City. You see Byron was getting a bit old in age." The leader and her Pokemon let out a cackle.

Tyce looked back at Alexia and signaled it was time to go. Tyce started walking to the hotel they were staying at. He didn't look back at the menacing women, for she wouldv'e seen his fearful face.
 
Alexia followed Tyce, but not before giving Gertrude a dirty look.

After catching up with him, she saw how worried he looked.

"You ok Tyce?"

She put her hand on his shoulder in a comforting gesture. She hoped everything was ok with him.
 
"I'm fine" Tyce had regained his cool. "Its just that my dad used to tell me about stories about the gym leaders he faced. Their strongest pokemon would be a Bronzor, or a Magmar, not a Pokemon that could go toe to toe with a legendary, and come out fine." Tyce looked down at Buizel. "You go on ahead to the hotel room. I'm gonna see what Sinnoh has to offer in terms of Pokemon."
 
"Should i come?"

Alexia asked this question cautiously in case Tyce wanted to go alone.
 
"Really, I'm fine. Enjoy yourself at the hotel...I hear they have a churro maker, and trainers like us get them for free." Tyce gave a genuine smile to Alexia, then started to walk over to the forest East of Canalave.

Tyce entered the forest. It had a much cooler atmosphere than the forests back at Hoenn. Tyce saw a Bidoof scurry from underneath a bush. 'To boring, I don't want a boring Pokemon like that on my team.' Tyce thought to himself.

Tyce kept looking until he found a promising Pokemon. It was a Gastrodon. Buizel prepare yourself. The Gastrodon and Buizel locked eyes, then the first move was fired.

Gastrodon shot a blast of mud balls toward Buizel, it was using Mud Shot. "Buizel counter with Blizzard." Buizel shot a frosty wind filled with snowballs to collide with the Mud Shot. The Blizzard froze the Mud Shot, which fell to the floor. The Gastrodon then fired multiple Hidden Power attacks. "Buizel use Whirlpool" Buizel lifted its hands and head up, the opened its mouth. A whirlpool began to form above his mouth. Buizel absorbed the white orbs of Hidden Power into the Whirlpool, then tossed it towards Gastrodon, but before it could make contact, a blue Pokemon blasted through it. Tyce looked back towards the Gastrodon and realized it had slinked back into the water.

Tyce went to go see what Pokemon had caused him to miss catching Gastrodon. It was...a Riolu! Tyce looked at the badly injured Pokemon. "What the hell? Buizel, go back to the hotel, ok" Tyce bent down and picked it up, as Buizel started going to the hotel. 'Hope no one thinks he is a wild pokemon, they might end up missing a hand' Tyce thought to himself. Then the Riolu pointed to a figure behind Tyce. Tyce looked and saw a trainer with a Scizor. The trainer spat on the ground and then started walking away. Tyce didn't understand, until Riolu put its palm where Tyce's heart was. He felt a mixture of hate and disgust for the Trainer. Tyce then realized that the trainer with the Scizor had just released Riolu because it was to weak.

Alexia walked back to the hotel. She eventually found Buizel and they went up to the room together.

"Alright girls take a rest up here. I'm gonna go grab some food for us. I'll be right back."

She then released her Pokemon who all jumped on the bed at once then giggled. Alexia smiled as she closed the door. I love my friends.

Tyce realized that the Riolu had went limp in his arm. "Riolu..." Tyce asked to see if it was ok. It didn't respond. Tyce got and started walking at a brisk pace to the Pokemon Center. On the way he saw Alexia. "ALEXIA,COME HERE! ITS REALLY IMPORTANT!"
 
She followed him hurriedly.

"What happened Tyce?"

She looked in his arms and saw the poor little dear breathing shallowly, and gasped.

"Oh no!"
 
"We have to get him to the Pokecenter. He was sent flying by some guy with a Scizor. Whoever the hell that guy was, well lets just say I better not see him again." Tyce said angrily. There is a difference between training hard and just being evil, what just happened would be classified as evil.

The Riolu started shaking violently. "We need to go there now!" Tyce started to run toward the Pokecenter. "Come on Alexia."
 
She followed right behind him.

Why would anyone abandon a Riolu? It evolves into a very powerful Pokemon.

"Tyce look!"

She pointed t o a red roof three blocks away.

"There's the Pokemon Center!"
 
Tyce entered the PokeCenter and cut in line to talk to the Nurse Joy. "Excuse Me, Ms. We need immediate care for this Riolu." The Nurse Joy looked up from filing her nail.

"Please place your Riolu in its Pokeball, then we can heal it." The Nurse said in an uncaring way. "Umm, this Riolu doesn't have a pokeball, not anymore." Tyce said worriedly.

"Well if it doesn't have a Pokeball, then you need to capture it or take it to the Pokemon Center on Steel Mill St. We only heal Trainer Pokemon."

Tyce fumbled around in his backpack and pulled out a shiny red Pokeball. He touched the pokeball to Riolu, which then absorbed it into the Pokeball. The Riolu had no energy to fight so it was immediatly captured.

"Ok now take him and heal him!" Tyce exclaimed. The Nurse Joy placed the Pokeball on a machine and it beeped for about 30 seconds. "I'm sorry, but your Riolu didn't make it." Tyce looked at the Nurse Joy with a horrified look on his face. "HAHA! I'm just joking, your Riolu will be fine, just let him rest for three days."

"That wasn't funny." Tyce picked up the Pokeball then walked over to Alexia. "He'll be fine, he just needs to rest for three days."
 
Alexia sighed in relief, then she looked over to the nurse joy who was chomping on her gum like a cow. Alexia gave her a disgusted look and turned to Tyce.

"Let's get out of here Ty, That nurse Joy bugs me."
