Well, there's no sign of Primeape! In fact, the only Pokémon to appear in the trailer are Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, Hitmontop, and Breloom. The episode appears to be based around Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee, and it looks like Ash and May could be using them in their battle. If so, May has Hitmonchan, while Ash has Hitmonlee.

I'm a bit disappointed that Ash/May are battling with rental Pokemon instead of their own.

A Grovyle Vs. Combusken match would have been excellent. Either way, looks like the best Frontier episode so far. Ash and May battling with two fighting types should be sweet.

This is not even the same fighting dojo as the one one with Anthony in the 1st season. This is the fighting dojo in the games, that was skipped over in the 1st season.

People expecting Primeape to show up just have unrealistic expectations and set themselves up for disappointment.

Did that Anthony/Primeape episode even take place in Saffron? If not, then people falsely assumed that was Saffron's Fighting dojo.

It's not obvious that this one is the fighting dojo from the games, and the one from the 1st season was a made up one.

Of course it is, but there was always the possibility that Primeape could have been in it. Some people are just too negative...

For me, the importance of this episode will be that it lets us know whether or not Musashi keeps her new hairstyle from the previous two episodes.

I'm really impartial to the idea, the new hairstyle looks so-so.

Nice avatar Dogasu!

Any info yet?

Well, given the backstory behind this particular battle, it was the expected result: no-one won, and yet everyone won at the end.

BTW: Musashi regrew her hair.

Screenshots.

So it was a sort of draw, like every other competition between Satoshi and Haruka.

I figured as much.

I'm upset that Musashi grew her hair back, because it looked really good in those Contest episodes.

And speaking of hair, what's with the CotD's hair? She looks like she just got out of bed or something.

Well, I wouldn't say draw... interrupted by Team Rocket more like.

But the end result was that everyone got what they wanted...

Team Rocket always interrupts battles. Why can't Ash and May finish after getting Pikachu+Pokémon-of-the-day back?

Is it just me or does it look like May was flirting with the male trainer of the day? There are pics with Brock swooning over the girl of course, but May seems to be going after the guy? Unless she sees the guy and girl as a couple or something.

I just watched the ep now...it wasn't too bad of a filler. CGI use is becoming more evident these days...there are a few scenes with Takeshi, (one of which he shatters because he is being ignored), that the CGI usage is abundant. As for the main aspects of the episode as a whole, it was decent. That whole "Ramen Battle" prospective made this episode thrive a little, better than the average filler. The Satoshi and Haruka battle was OK as well, even though I would have prefered a longer battle than what was portrayed.

Such an obvious result with such an obvious scenario to finish it off. If they're ever going to end things in a tie in future, they should try not to:

1)Let the narrator talk over it in his conclusion so we don't see the battle
2)Have Team Rocket to interfere

I think the last decent match I saw that ended in a draw was his match against Jackson in the silver conference, I don't think I've ever seen a good contest end in tie ever since to be honest.

I thought the scenes with Brock shattering were humerous. ^_^

Hey, is Miki Shinichiro getting hints from Eric? That was a freaking *weird* squeal he did during the motto.

Overall, it was OK. I did enjoy the ramen shop location, but the end was too non-climactic.
