While travelling towards Nibi City, Satoshi-tachi see an Usokkie made out of gold in the middle of a forest. After an unsuccessful capture attempt, the group continues to the next town, where apparantly everyone is obsessed with finding this elusive pokemon. Our heroes meet the Usokkie's former trainer, a boy named Kinya, and decides to help him find his pokemon, but as ever, Musashi and Kojirou are listening in on their discussion. Who will find the Gold Usokkie first? And what is this secret Kinya is hiding?

Their was a Zelda joke, Jessie dreamt throwing a Sudowoodo in a lake, and a fairy gave her a gold one. XD

Also, Jessie is paralyzed by Pokeball beam, and Sudowoodo has this amusing scene were it dances for Cowboys, before realizing they wanna catch it!

I am scared of Pokeballs now. :O

[So it's not a shiny then? Poop. The way they did it was really lame. So this kid is a genius who made a machine that accidently changed his Sudowoodo's skin color? Um, okay.

I like Ballad Battle Frontier, but for a serious ep. That was the problem with this one, the corniness that led to sunset ending [HASHTAG]#250[/HASHTAG]. If the entire thing was humor, it would have been great.

The humor we did get was hilarious though. The entire scene around the lake until Ash-tachi popped up was hilarious. Characters getting larger heads for a few seconds and characters randomly being dressed into something different before you can blink for the win once again.

I seriously hate the TR mecha. :O

The "throw something into a lake, and get something better from a water spirit" isn't Zelda-exclusive, there's something similar in .hack. I'd say it's a Japanese legend. Anyone got info?

So that left a bad taste in your mouth too, eh?

Did he say that he was experimenting on it to make it stronger against water?

Yeah I think that was it. He was trying to make it resistant to water, not sure exactly why, and he was successful, but the process also gave it that golden sheen. When Sudowoodo saw this, it got really upset and ran away. He figured out how to reverse the process and had since been trying to get Sudowoodo back when Ash and the gang showed up.

I remeber some sort of faily tale or something on these lines. Another part of the throwing the thing into the lake and getting something better back is that the spirit asks if the better item is the actual item dropped, and the owner must reply no. Then the owner is rewarded with his honestly by earning the better item.

Loved her bizzare little fantasy-thing. xD
That pokeball thing sounds... strange. o.o

After watching this episode, I LOVE IT!

Sudowoodo was hillarious and cute. I loved how it ran from all those cowboys crazily. Team Rocket was funny as well. Their Bonsai robo was awesome, especially when it transformed. I loved how it went "BonSAI!".

The COTD, Kinsagi I think it was, was awesome, especially when he commanded Sudowoodo to attack.

Oh,a dn Frontier Balld version rocks! Is the CD out yet?

It wouldn't be classified as a shiney anyway, just a pokemon with a wierd skin tone, like the purple Keckleon and Ash's Buterfree's mate, aswell as some of the pokemon in the Orange Islands

...thus making two people who didn't realize that it was a rhetorical question. :P

It's coming out on April 26th.

The CotD's name is Kinya.

As written in the first post.

(Until I checked the credits, I was certain it was "Kiiya", though.)

"Kin" is japanese for gold, by the way, and I doubt that's a coincidence.

I thought this was a good episode, I liked it when the gang saw sudowoodo standing there and he tried to hide by pretending to be a tree! Didn't work!

Also Jessie in that silly outfit being thrown into the lake, that made me laugh!

The legend of Excalibur and King Arthur is pretty similar too.

I quite liked this ep. A bit of a silly filler sure, but there's no harm in that. Afterall, a show is there to entertain and if it's part of an over-arcing plot then so long as it moves that on, even just a little bit (and this one did), then taking a silly diversion is fine.

I think some people have been spurned by early-Johto's fillerama, which served pretty much no plot purpose at all, but the constant disregarding of episodes that don't feature an important battle of some description is pretty nonsensical. Especially in the Battle Frontier saga where we've been soaring through plot-centric ep after plot-centric ep and even been treated to some really fun fillers.

Though, this isn't among the top fillers so far I must say and the Bonsly/Sudowoodo interaction was extremely underused/underplayed but still, seemed a bit more entertaining than most of last week's special either way.

Yeah, BF has had some great fillers. Sudowoodo, Orienteering, Manene and Bonsly, Inuzuka, Crawdaunt episode.

AG as a whole has very good fillers. The only BF filler that really sucked was that horrible Butterfree and Psyduck one early on.

I can list many pre-BF fillers that sucked quite a lot.

Come to think of it, there are a good few plot-based ones that sucked as well. *Cough*pre-Grand Festival Ribbon Cup Theft*cough*
