Review AG175: Haruka VS Musashi! The Last Contest!!

The thread for the first part of the episode already kinda turned into speculation for this episode, so I thought I'd go ahead and start an official preview thread.

So I've just seen the preview and it looks to be quite...amazing!

- May vs. Jessie in the contest will rock out loud even though we ALL know how it will end...

-Uber Squirtle again? Oh well, I guess beggars can't be choosers...

-Okay, Harley vs. Drew will be great. I can see something along the lines of Drew saving Ash and Brock from the balloon and Harley saying, "Drew, MAy's your competition too!", then Drew will probably say something to reply and make all of the Contestshippers go nuts.

-Skarmory? Wonder who's that is...if the contest is already down to MAy and Jessie...Wait, Harley's new Pokemon this episode? He has had a new Pokemon every episode he's featured in...

-That Manene and Cacnea hugging James' face thing will be so screenshotable.

I'm wondering how in the world Ash, Max and Brock get trapped in a box and carried away by the Meowth balloon, especially since they're sitting right in the audience.

The Drew/Harley scene looks quite intimidating. It's really scary. I'm guessing Drew uses Flygon to set Ash and co. free from the Meowth balloon.

Actually, that's a good point. Presumably, Ash-tachi (plus Drew at some point, if he's going to free them) run out of the contest hall. However, why would they do that slap bang in the middle of the contest? Team Rocket would have to do something trouble-maker-y to make them come out. Only if they did that, they'd be drawing attention to themselves in a massive way. If their aim is to get Ash, Brock and Max out of the way so Harley and Jessie can mess up May's battling unimpeded, shouldn't they be aiming for inconspicuous?

Why would they be doing that? This is Team Rocket, they're GOING to get into the thick of things. Chances are they attempt to screw up May again, get caught out again and are chased outside, where the twerps get caught in their box and Drew saves them.

James starts up a shop selling "Go May!" badges, which are actually his bottle tops. Everyone wanders inside, and realises it's actually a trap. They fly away, and Drew chases after them, saving them with Flygon. Meanwhile, May is fighting Jessie and Banette, but without anyone in the audience supporting her becomes manically depressed, resulting in Squirtle getting owned. Ash and Drew find Harley and find out what's going on, then run back on stage and announce Jessie has been cheating, getting her a Red Card of doom and winning May the contest. May swoons, and Harley runs away before the Advanceshippers and the Contestshippers start arguing over who caused her to do it.

My bet is on Skarmory belongs to Drew. Why?

-It's outside like Flygon.

-Drew needs a non-AG Pokemon.

-Skarmory fits Drew.

No other reason, I just like Drew with Skarmory.

And May better not be fighting Bannette with Squirtle. That would be horrible! :O Hopefully it's just a trick of the preview...

Anyway the Drew vs Harley part will be awsome!!! I expect Harley at the end reffers about it just for May to discover Drew's been there since last episode (hahaha well since the preliminaries). Drew will probably say something to reply and make all of the Contestshippers go nuts. :expect: hahaha Harley is so important in this part

It means to faint, usually because of some overwhelming thing (whether it be overwhelming joy, sorrow, anger, or whatever, they all just cause an overwhelming lack of blood to the brain). Often, though, it takes a less "serious" meaning, which is to be overwhelmed by usually joy or excitement. In this case, he means that she faints or becomes "weak at the knees" because of the stress brought on by having won her fifth ribbon and, if you're shippy, the joy brought on by being helped by "someone she loves," either Ash or Drew.

Yeah, exactly what Wakana did when Drew spoke to her in that Contest episode. She fainted over a simple line of encouragement about her Vibrava. Poor girl.

Anyway as for this episode, May beats Jessie and gets the ribbon. I'm sure this was all common sense though anyway.

In the preview, we saw Bannette using an Electric attack against Squirtle (good strategy, although maybe not for a Contest). Can anyone confirm if that was Thunderbolt or Thunder?

I think it used Thunder during the Grand Festival. Rapid Spin was hopefully used to break through the electric attacks, Bubble for Will o Wisp, and Ice Beam not used often because of Torment.

We finally see what happens when a Contest ends in a tie...they go into sudden death mode to deplete each others points!

It was a good battle, and at the end Drew says he has all 5 ribbons too, (duh) so May and her rivals will be at the GF together again.
