Well the preview's up so here's my two cents:

I too agree that Slaking needs to fall in love with May. This would be ten times funner than anything we've seen this season.

Also, Swellow is getting some more love! The more Swellow the better and if it takes on the giant Slaking...Can you say great training for the re-match with Brandon?

Okay...and of course I need to say something about the Aipom. If anyone agrees with this idea, please speak up. I think Ash will catch an Aipom...why? Here are some hints:

1. Everytime and Pokemon steals Ash's hat, he captures it. Just look at Primeape, Noctowl and Snorunt...

2. Okay, this would definitely explain the random Aipom in the Spurt! opening.

3. This whole Saga, Ash has not captured one new Pokemon. Sure he evolved Phanpy and Snorunt but he hasn't captured a new one yet and every arc he has. Even in Orange Islands he caught Lapras and Snorlax...

Well, maybe they are gonna make a 4th-gen Aipom evolution! And Ash will get a Aipom and evolve it before the season end, revealing a new Pokemon.

Could be possible....

Nobody needs to catch a crappy Aipom. It's one of the most pointless Pokemon ever, and Ash already has two Normal types.

I'm loving the King Kong parody though. This episode looks to be a winner by the preview alone.

I was hoping for an Aipom evo so it getsatleast a bit better. I could see it happening. Actually I just watched Spurt again, and I can definantly see it happening. Then again there was a solo Absol in Advanced Advventure that Ash or anybody else ever caught.

Such a shame that the most obvious dub title for this episode--"Slaking Kong"--would probably infringe on copyright.
They probably could because I mean Donkey Kong did, but then again that wasn't anything having to do with King Kong except becuase it's a gorilla. THis episode seems to be based off the film.

I think the Aipom is going to have SOME role to play with the main characters, considering that it's shown up in the opening. Maybe it will be a similar thing to Larvitar, or maybe May will catch it. I do have to wonder why they chose AIPOM though. It's such an uninteresting pokemon, IMO.

This episode doesn't look really too interesting to me though. Except for the possibility of them doing something with Aipom, it looks like a filler.

The Aipom in the opening is solely for the 'hand of cards' pun. Nothing more. There's an Aerodactyl in there too - does that mean Ash is going to catch one of those? What about those Gyarados - must be getting one of those too.

Badge Case eps bore the shit clean out of me. Ribbons are going to do the same.

Though I have to admit, the Snorunt ep got away with it for beiing both a capture ep and for me watching it for the first time on Xmas day. You forgive anything you watch on Xmas day - that's how they get away with putting crap like Arthur's Christmas Adventure on.

Though I really see little point to look forward to this ep - it seems like Generic Filler [HASHTAG]#305955[/HASHTAG] and it doesn't even sound like a good one.

A King Kong parody is generic? They've never done this before.

Aipom = crazy villagers
Giant Slaking = King Kong
May = Woman that King Kong holds, forgot her name
Swellow = Planes that shoot down Kong

I'm sure this one will be a hit.

Actually, King Kong is public domain, so "Slaking Kong" could still be legal, I think.

It's a "Important Character item"-stolen episode. That's generic.

It's a also a parody. Granted that parodies don't happen all the time in Pokemon, but that doesn't give any credit to originality.

The ribbon case and Ash's hat being stolen are only minor parts about this episode, the King Kong parody is the main course, and it looks like a fantastic concept.

After the lackluster Pyramid episode, this is a welcome change of pace.

The thing is that those two are battling Ash's pokemon. Aipom is out on its own.

I haven't seen the preview yet, but...
I'm gonna say this will probably bring back some memories and leave it at that.

Aipom is Volt Tackled by Pikachu, then gives way to the Team Rocket card section using aforementioned pun.

To all those speculating about the Aipom capture, PokeAni were actually speculating the same thing long before this topic was posted, but that it might go to May instead, but unlikely.

That'd be awesome if it was true, Aipom's always had the shaft and for a while I've wanted to see someone catch something not from whatever the latest generation is. ESPECIALLY the GSC generation, of which barely any were captured. Eevee was a good start, now lets give Ash one. I was also thinking the same about a 4th gen evolution, but I'd be happy without one. As uninteresting as Aipom may be, knowing the Anime they'd probably give it some cool weird attacks if this is true.

Aipom is rather cool in the anime. The games are a whole 'nother story, so I can see why its seriously downplayed.

At this point, I'm so nutso for Ash to catch a Pokemon that anything sounds good.
