As the Grand Festival continues, May is up against Harley in a double battle.

As suspected, Munchlax is in a rematch with Octillery. They are assisted by Eevee and Wigglytuff. But the most interesting pat of the preview is Drew. What's he so angry about?
 
No, the preview shows Cacturne and Wigglytuff vs Munchlax and Eevee. I think Octillery is doing the next appeals round.
 
Octillery is doing the second stage appeals, Harley is battling with Cacturne and Wigglytuff.

I must say, that technique with Eevee firing a Shadow Ball and then Munchlax punching the Shadow Ball into their opponents is rather cool.

May won, blablabla. Didn't catch what attacks Harley's Wigglytuff used, but Drew's Absol apparently knows Razor Wind, Water Pulse and Flash. One person mentioned Iron Tail too.

Ash tried to catch Aipom, but failed.

The match against Drew began in the second half of the ep. Flygon and Absol VS Squirtle and Combusken. Combusken started glowing red at the end of the episode, and now there's a fierce discussion going on with theories on what it was - most of them predict a new attack, though evolution's a possibility.
 
Hm... Overheat?

The evolution glow is usually white.
 
We've seen this stuff before, when a Pokemon glows that means it learns a new attack, not evolves.
 
Now I'm starting to expect May to beat Drew even more, since they've started the battle in this episode. They could finish it up in the first half of next week's episode and then have May lose to that Lapras girl. It would be awesome if Combuskin evolved, but I bet it's just going to learn a new attack
 
It's obviously the Blaze trait. Grovyle glowed green for Overgrow.

'though her pokemon never evolve during a contest battle...

I didn't see it yet, but was the glow at all similar to what happened before Charizard learned Overheat in the Arcticuno episode. I'd rather see it evolve since Blaziken is cooler and doesn't just look like a big chicken.
 
Who's to say Saori will be the winner? Saori could be knocked out in a half-eppy. Look what happened to harley in this episode. If they make either Drew/May's winning battle a half-ep and the other half a non-stop battle. Drew/May could pull off a win in the end.

Besides, both want this more than Saori.

Drew needs his revenge on Saori and wantes to show her he is a strong opponent and May has wanted to win since the beginning of her choice to become a cooordinator and wants to prove she's more than just a silly little girl.

Question: During the episode we see these people watching Haruka's Matches, Who are they?


 
The ones Fabuvinny mentiones. Ogata (the one above) and Wakana, Drew's fangirl. Both were May rivals this season.

Edit: Oh! And if you look closely at the Wakana pic, there's a photo of her with May in the background. Haruka/Wakana shippers will have a field day. ^^;

May and Wakana look cute together! And I see Wakana has a photo of Drew that she can admire. :x

This is one of the reasons why I think they should bring other coordinators back besides just Drew and Harley, the others like Wakana would be interesting to see again too.
