After almost 200 episodes, Advance Generation is ending...

  • The group are eating at a picnic bench. This is presumably the evening between the contest and May and Max heading back to Hoenn.
  • May is talking a lot. I think she is telling them what she is going to do next.
  • Max looks sad.
  • We then have a scene of Ash and Brock which looks like it is just before Brock leaves.
  • Team Rocket attack.
  • Ash looks like he is about to respond but Gary then appears.
  • Next up is a scene of Oak, Delia and Mimey. Delia is shouting something.
  • Pikachu and Erekiburu (Electabuzz evo) are both using Iron Tail in battle.
  • Gary orders Erekiburu to use Thunderpunch.
  • The final shot is of Ash, Aipom and Pikachu on a boat to Shinou.

It feels funny that AG is ending. I can still remember when it first began and that first AG image of May and Max was revealed, and people were going nuts because Misty wasn't there.

To think that was almost 4 years ago is crazy.

Elekible is the JUGGERNAUT BITCH!

He looks so awesome in the preview, especially when he gives that odd look on his face when Pikachu and him are attacking each other.

He really makes me wanna see the episode, that and Gary.

Shigeru looks pretty mature! o.o I'm loving the art and animation already! ^3^ Awww, sad Masato.

OMFG.

Gary in Green's FR/LG outfit? x.x

LURVE!

Every time Gary appears after his Johto departure, he just gets cooler-looking. :P And here I thought the lab coat made him look noticeably older.

We need ages for the cast so badly. x.x

I am surprised by the lack of theorization on Gary's potential as the new Viridian Gym Leader. I believe that the possibility was dismissed by viewers of the Agatha episode due to the fact that he was still a researcher at the time; the Battle Frontier saga could be nicely wrapped by having Gary fill the Gym Leader position on a permanent basis (as opposed to Agatha).

Needless to say, that would also require Ash to look back at what made him pursue the Battle Frontier in the first place - the Elite Four. Were he to pause at the thought and move forward to the Shin'ou League, I would laugh and promptly quit watching.

Most people seem to think Gary is the rival in D/P #3, so he doesn't seem to be tied down to any Gym.

This episode will decide who other than Ash will go to Shinou or not. If the goodbyes are quick and lack emotion, the characters are most likely returning.

If the goodbyes are emotional complete with flashbacks of all of AG with those heartbreaking lyrics, then the characters aren't going to be in the next season.

An interesting part of this episode is they have SO much to fit in, (including the conclusion of the Sceptile/Blaziken battle), that I'm guessing the goodbyes will be within the first 5 minutes of the episode. If they're short, some of the AG cast may be returning.

That is not my idea for thinking; it is simply a straightforward guess derived from an ambiguous episode title. It would be ridiculous for the aforementioned rival to be anyone else than the respective Diamond and Pearl character.

This looks like a cool episode but is May leaving the group :( I think she is to go to johto for the other contests right , I'll miss her

We'll find out what she's going in this episode. She hasn't said anything about Johto in any of the previous eps.

Max is most likely gone though, regardless if May stays or not.

Didn't drew and Harley mention Johto in the "rival ep" I just thpought she would follow them :)

I want Max to go, hes annoying and I'd love Misty back but thats unlikly . I wonder if that new girl appears in this ep

May's response to Harley about Johto when he ran off was, "I'm not sure I want to," and then she sweat drops. Make of that what you will.

I have a feeling she's going to say something about her Blaziken at the picnic table though, and how it has grown from a little Torchic into a powerful evolved form. Considering the Contest battle continues into the beginning of this ep, I'd say it is likely.

I just think it's lame to give her a Blaziken and for it to only be in one episode. Combusken should have evolved much earlier if this is May's final season. :/

I agree with scott85 but there could be speacials dedicated to her if she leaves like with with misty. Personally I hope May stays she is such an interesting character but this season has been focucing alot on May (Like 6 titles begin with "May vs ....") so I think shes going :(

OK if May comes back then this is most likely gona happen:

May will have say goodbye to Ash and Brock and she will come home.
After the special 2hr length episodes and the other episodes there will be a Pokemon Cronicles episode featuring May (As they did with Brock and Misty).
Then she decides she wants to come back (hopefully without her little nerdy brother) just like Brock, and then she appears in another unexpected place.

Rehash.

Oh well its better than having Hikari to Pokemon Super Contests! And I hope Hikari has an interesting sidequest like legendary pokemon because it all can't just lead to a tournament! If May comes back we have to watch 3 tournaments because Hikari (if this is right) will do another tournament-based sidequest which will interupt both! So I hope that she gets a quest that will interact with the other quests for Ash and May and will hopefully not be another tournament.

Even a heartfelt, emo goodbye wouldn't preclude a character from coming back. That's Brock for you. TWICE.

Yeah good point!!!

Truth be told, I'd rather have three major competitions than a bunch of other fillers. I think it would really give the show a lot of variety.
