Yes, I am creating a thread for those who are AgainstShippers! This is the coupling of Paul, Ash's main rival of the DP series, and Zoey, Dawn's main rival so far.

Is anyone else here an AgainstShipper? Or am I the only one around? *hopes there are others*

Anyways, another question is Why do you support this shipping?

Me? Well, honestly it started with me not liking IkariShipping. I believed that Dawn was far too...fragile for Paul, so I looked at other characters trying to see who could give Paul tough love. The number one name that came to mind to me was Zoey. She is the type that doesn't pull any punches and is the only one that I see that can take Paul's harshness and revert it.
 
I think most will simply want to shove Paul under the carpet, but I have to agree with your reasoning, Zoey would be a nice match for him, and wouldn't be overrun by his unadapted behavior. So not actively supporting it, but I also don't think it's a complete crack-shipping.

I love that this has a Thread!!!!!! I like PaulXZoey, mostly because I hate, hate, hate Ikari, so Zoey seemed like his perfect match, for some reason. :mail:
 
This shipping alright only reason i like they match pretty goood together ZOEY YAY!
 
*Raises hand* I guess you could call me a supporter, mainly since I absolutely DEPISE IKARISHIPPING, and since I adore Penguinshipping.

Sorry. Just explaining the reasons why I support this ship. I haven't looked into it much, but I HAVE seen some interesting fanfics about it. I also thik that out of everyone Paul gets shipped to, I think that Zoey fits him best. (No offense to any other Paul-shippers) It just seems that her attitude could really make Paul swoon for her.
 
Zoey is a tough girl and could stand anyone even the cold hearten of characters Paul.
We need to spread more of Againstshipping, because it isn't that popular like other shippings.
 
Hey..I'm an AgainstShipper. :D

I always thought that this ship deserved some love, but I found very little of that around Shipping forums. I'm glad there's a thread; now I can finally see that there are more supporters around other than me. I also think Shinji and Nozomi would make an insanely awesome couple, mainly because they're both really tough and well balanced. Nozomi doesn't seem like a girl that can easily annoy Shinji, and I think they'd get along well. (Maybe Shinji could possibly see her as a formidable opponent in battle, if he ever gets the chance to see her skills.)

BTW, did anyone else squeal when Nozomi and Shinji first met? (Even though Nozomi scolded him. xD;;;)

That's pretty bland, don't ya think? It's basically adding two colors together...

...though I myself don't know why this ship was named "Against" in the first place. Anyone care to explain? xD;

Yeah its kind of bland, same here i want to know why its named "Against"
 
It's called Againstshipping because they're both rivals to the main characters. You know...'against' them?

And we don't have an Againstshipping article because it wouldn't be much of an article. Understandably so.
 
I understand the explanation, although it the name lacks something that makes it really tied to this pairing alone. It could very well have been used for any ship between a rival of Ash and a rival of his traveling companion then. Kenny x Paul could have been AgainstShipping as well, for instance, since these are also both rivals of Ash and Dawn. Then again, naming ships is mostly a matter of "what comes to mind when you think of a couple" so AgainstShipping it is then.

Anyway, are there any hints, besides the analysis that they would be a nice match for each other, based on their personalities?

Kengo is not Hikari's main rival, however Nozomi is. As for hints, I can't think of much that can be considered as hints, considering their only interaction was in DP128.

Paul and Zoey personality match perfectly.
There both tough, confident, hardworking and skillful.
If there could have been more episodes of them together :-/ i hope the writer can think of something (Zoey X Paul) Together

Ehehehe, well nice to know that there are other shippers out there other than myself. As far as the whole Ikarishipping goes...no COMMENT!
