AHH! Monsters! (Need ideas)

I'm entering the Design Your Destiny Yugioh Contest where a Monster I make can become an official card...

Only problem is, I can't decide what too draw. Anyone got some cool ideas? Like, any obscure Mythological beasts, or ledgends?

any of Lovecraft´s gods (there are way more than just Cthulhu ) are very nice monsters. Maybe if you change a few design aspects?

I´m searching for some german legends which aren´t known very well. I´ll edit this later ^^

The Midgard Serpent would be interesting. It encircles the globe and is destined to kill and be killed by Thor.

The title of this topic made me think of that old show, "Aaahh! Real Monsters!"

But anyway! Uh.. monsters. That Wolpertinger thing is cool looking. The only thing popping into my head at this hour of the morning is El Chupacabra. Because those are nifty. But probably too scary for YuGiOh (don't watch it myself, so I don't know what the monsters/creatures are like in it)?

There are some pretty freaky stuff in Yugioh though, and I thought a Ledgend-based monster would be a good entry.

Any variations on the Gorgon theme? Because that would rock.

How about a Manticore?

...Screw it, YGO's probably exploited all of Greek mythology it can. In that case, I'd go with Norse- not too much has been done with that in popular culture. Or some really obscure culture's mythology. Either way, I'd draw from mythology here. Since mythology rocks.
