AiedailEclipsed’s TLoZ-themed Team! :)))

Here is a short team description.

This team is something of a whim and a desire to do something on Platinum that doesn’t involve me screaming at my totally uncoordinated team. I wanted to do something competitive but trying to have fun with it at the same time, so I’m doing a TLoZ-themed team! Oh, and for those people who haven’t ever heard of TLoZ, it’s just The Legend of Zelda.

So, on to the actually team line-up! Here are the current deliberations for the team.

::: Typhlosion = Din
::: Milotic = Nayru
::: Tropius = Farore
::: Absol = Link
::: Gardevoir = Zelda
::: Claydol = Midna

For any details on the characters of TLoZ please visit any of the following pages:

::: Din
::: Nayru
::: Farore
::: Link
::: Zelda
::: Midna

For those idiots/trolls/people who have hidden under rocks for the last few years and this is their first contact with the world, you can find all the info you need to know about the Pokemon above here:

A Warning (Heed it to live said:
NOTE: This team is like kind of done by myself without Smogon or a good move list for Typhlosion or Claydol, so please don’t bitch about it. Also, I know some stuff is left blank but again, working on it! Thanks! :)))

Okay, I know nothing about competitive battling.
But because it is based on TLoZ is love this team. :-D

Not too sure, really... any advice on that? Oh, and just to let ya'll know tell me this stuff now, because I don't feel like having to rebreed stuff. (I haven't bred or traded anything yet, so tell me now!)

This team is great: one of the better teams i have seen. You have the three man eliments in fire water and grass... and then three extremely powerful wild card.

the only sugestions is that you might want to replave tropious with a more powerful pokemon, but that is up to you

Since Typhlosion already has Sunny Day, you should give one of your pokemon solarbeam. Maybe not Tropius though, since Sunny Day increases fire damage done to it. Or you could cut Sunny Day out since it harms your Milotic (not by much though).

Trick is okay on Gardevior, though not necessary. If you choose not to have trick on it, one combo is to give it a lum berry and Synchronize instead of Trace. Just a thought.

Swap Tropius for a roserade tspiker/ sleeper lead, make typhosion a late game Special sweeper, and give milotic leftovers and Recover.
It's a decent uu team. Not stellar

Oh, and forgot to say this, but this is by no means the order the Pokemon will come out in.

@Phoenicks ::: I don't really want to add Solarbeam anywhere as to not make a Pokemon dependent on the instant 'beam, and cutting out Sunny Day ruins a power boost to Tyhplosion and takes the speed boost from Tropius

@DCM ::: Not too sure about Roserade but I'll think about it, and see Edit #2 for the late game sweeper comment, and finally, which move to replace? Ice Beam?

remove sunny day, replace tropius, lose night slash on absol (use stone edge or something) and name someone after linebeck^^ (he's awesome) use modest on gardevoir, I would replace trick by wish.

@Mijzelfan ::: (A) Maybe you didn't get the memo, but Sunny Day kinda ruins the strategy for Tyhplosion and Tropius, (B) with what (not saying that I will,) (C) Never, (D) No, the characteristics I have cover SpAtk, and (E) Maybe, but would someone explain Trick to me?

Trick is commonly used to temporarily incapacitate an opponent and more often than not, induce a switch. For example, you summoned your Gardevoir after your opponent summons a Gyarados. Now, standard Gyarados tend to start off by using one or two Dragon Dances. You can use Trick to give Gyarados the Choice Specs while it sets up. This will force your opponent to do one of two things: (A)switch out since all it will be able to do is Dragon Dance, or (B)sit and wait for you to take it out. Additionally, the pokemon will now be locked into using one move throughout the enitire battle (it is worse for Gyarados because most variations are physical and thus would get no boost from a Choice Specs.) It also has the dubious benefit of weakening Gardevoirs damage ratio but allowing it the versatility of using all of her different attacks. This tactic is hardly ever detremental to Gardevoir as she'll more often than not recieve an item which can boost her stats (like, say, a Salac berry,) an HP healing item (leftovers,) an attack boosting item (Life Orb or Expert Belt,) or sometimes just another Choice Item (2/3 of witch actually help her. Beware of tricking her a Choice Band though.) In the last case, you'd be forced to switch, but she'll be able to come back and sweep at a later time.

I hope this helped.

1. Fuck you, Linebeck's awesome
2. how about roserade or something? he can even lay some spikes.
3. characteristics don't mean the IV has to be good.
4. Even with 31 speed IV's I would use timid, if the sp attack IV is that bad, replace gardevoir by a better one.
5. trick makes it that your opponent get the choice specs and thus gets locked into one move (which no one but a special sweeper is going to like). But you might get a stupid item in return too. So I suggest wish to heal others.
6. I see now that gohst are going to kill gardevoir. USe shadow ball instead of thunderbolt on it.
7. I also see that Trpius doesn't have any hp investments. GIv it more Ev's in Hp instead of defenses.
8. I think putting recover + life orb on milotic is a better idea (you'll have her around longer that way)
9. Are you going to like the stat drop on superpower? If you do keep it. But I don't really like it myself (since 2 uses ruin the swords dance and ruin your defense). YOu could use psycho cut or stone edge instead.
10. Fuck you, Linebeck rules and you know it xD

@Envoy of Water ::: Thank you so much!

@mijzelffan ::: (A) That is not the issue here, (B) Ehhh... the reason I'm really hesitant for a Roserade is that I'm trying to raise Pokemon that I've never raised before and I raised one in Diamond, so... any other suggestions?, (C) who was talking about IV's???, (D) Ok, lets go over this, the characteristics cover SpAtk, and... what the fuck... I HAVE TIMID!, (E) already explained, (F) Hmmm... I don't know about that one, I'll take it under consideration, (G) Tropius is meant to be a wall here so... UGH IDFINGK!!!, (H) Hmm... that is a suggestion but what move to replace..., (I) Stone Edge got a go ahead, and (J) GET THE FUCK OVER IT!

No problem :)

Actually Mijzelffan is right in that if Tropius is meant to be a wall, then HP investment is usually a good idea.

If you're gonna go with the Life Orb/Recover idea for Milotic, then I would like to suggest removing Dragon Pulse. Since Dragon types are only super effective against themselves, and you already have Ice Beam, Dragon Pulse becomes just a counter measure for Kingdra (in OU) and Palkia (in Uber,) making it the least essential of her attacks. Ice Beam and HP Electric can already hit everything in the game for at least neutral damage anyway.

Also, if I may be so bold as to make a suggestion, considering this is a Legend of Zelda themed team, don't you think that Wevile and Gallade are more suited for the roles of Midna and Link respectively? Also, how about a Tyranitar for the role of Ganondorf?

One last question. I'm new here and I still haven't quite gotten the hang of the thread posting thing, could you teach me how to put the sprites of the Pokemon on my posts?

@Envoy of Water ::: (A) I'll have to take a look at it, what would be the suggested amount?, (B) We were just discussing that in the Chat :))), (C) I just did a Gallade and frankly I'm tired of them... now the Weavile idea is good I'll have to take a look-see, and as for Tyranitar, saving him for HGSS! :)))

EDIT: LOL! :))) Its ok! To do images in particular, do this:

Except without the asteriks, and go here if you need any other BB Code help!

Well, it all depends on what you think you'd be walling more often. Considering it's got a quad weakness to ice, not to mention a fire weakness and a higher special defense stat, I say to move around....I dunno....maybe 30 EVs from her defense stat and all but four EVs of her special attack stat into her HP. To be honest, I'd try to make her a wall that concentrates on just one defensive stat (my suggestion would actually be defense since she's better suited for it, but one neutral special attack would destroy her.) The EV spread I'd give her is 252 HP, 252 Defense, 4 Sp. Atk. But that's just me. Hope this helps somehow

Lol, I'm saving Tyranitar for HGSS too!

Thank you so much

@Envoy of Water ::: (A) Weavile = No, not sure why just don't like it... *shoulder shrug*, and (B) Yeah, I'll get a second opinion on that spread, but it looks solid, but I'm worried that a it'll leave me more or less defenseless to Bugs...

It's okay. I don't like Wevile either, I just thought it fit into the Midna role.

Well, with the physical/special split, the only Bug moves you'd really be seeing in the Metagame are X-Sissor, Megahorn and U-Turn, all of which are physical and (thanks to her flying type) all of which Tropius is neutral to. Bug Buzz and Silver Wind are the only other useful Bug type moves that I can think about right now and I've seldom seen them in competitive play

@Envoy of Water ::: True, dual types confuse me alot... ugh, whatever, any other opinions?
