Is it possible to teach all eight HMs to only two Pokémon? If so, I haven't figured out how yet. The best I've been able to get so far is a minimum of three HM slaves (Cut, Surf, and Waterfall on a Tentacruel; Strength, Rock Smash, and Rock Climb on a Graveler; and Fly and Defog on some bird, possibly Flash on the bird, too.)

If someone knows two Pokes that can learn all eight HMs between them, that's be great (I'm crossing my fingers...). :)

Skarmory: Cut, Fly, Defog and Rock Smash
Bibarel: Surf, Waterfall, Strength and Rock Climb

Sweet!

Finally, a use for a "vendor trash" Pokémon like Bibarel. ;-)

Y'know, I seem to remember that Bibarel could learn Surf. I should've investigated further. Thanks for the information! Now I can have my two TM slaves, my Pickup/Covet Poke, my False Swipe/Sleep Poke, and two strong battle Pokes with me (one of which will of course know Super Fang, to go along with False Swipe if needed) when I go off to do a lot of different stuff.

:birthday:

Gotta love how Skarmory can be a majore battler or an HM slave ^_^

You're welcome. I'm sure there are other two poke combos that can be made, but that's what I came up with after a quick pedia search.

Bibarel and Skarmory
Just to note, Bibarel is capable of learning six of eight HMs, making him incredibly versatile to your needs. (He does not learn Fly or Defog.)

Dragonite learns seven of eight HMs, making him a viable HM slave for those who "power leveled" a Dratini up to Level 55 just for Dex Completion purposes. (He does not learn Rock Climb.)

Salamence has a slightly less impressive repertoire of five of eight HMs, but again, he has the two that Bibarel does not and I suspect that many members may have a "crap Salamence" that they raised in Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald for the purposes of Dex Completion.

I was just answering it...wasn't meanin' to be funny.

Oh, well... sure, they can learn the HMs. (I believe Mew can learn all of them). But they're very special Pokémon, and using them as HM slaves
would be ironic. :smokin:

Ironic is not the word you are looking for =)

I would say it was ironic. You finally got two of the rarest Pokémon in the game, powerful creatures that could easily be used to decimate your friends' teams, and what do you do? Reduce them to vehicles.

Smeargle.

Smeargle can't learn HMs. o_o; In can only permanently 'Sketch' an attack. ...I've never seen an HM used in the game by a NPC, to boot.

I'm curious to know if there are any other pairs like that could be used- or three so that would have all the HMs plus Dig and Flash..
