Hey all. Ever had an album that you just left in your car, CD player, etc. and it played over, over and over again? Yeah, this is for those albums, the ones that you love every track. I'll start this off, hopefully we can keep this to around 5 albums each?

5.) Ænima by Tool
Aenima.jpg

In my opinion, the best Tool album so far. Starts off with a solid pounding track in Stinkfist, then flows into a pair of amazing tracks in Eulogy and H. The intro of Eulogy really gets me going, and the actual song is great of course, killer riffs. Then the build up @ 5:00, turning into silence then into a nice mellow groove. I love Eulogy too :3. H. is a really nice track to just relax and listen to, I like to listen to it when I'm going to sleep. Then comes the "Intro tracks" as I like to call them. Useful Idiot, Message to Harry Manback, Intermission, Die Eir Von Satan, Cesaro Summability, and (-) Ions all are intrumental parts usually just with sound effects, or random spoken word stuff like Message to Harry Manback and (-) Ions. Forty Six & 2 and Ænima are within my top 3 favourite Tool tracks ever, along with Schism from Lateralus. The rest of the album is pretty much on par with Eulogy, H., Stinkfist, etc. Just a great album that I can listen to over and over again.

4.) Nevermind by Nirvana
NirvanaNevermindalbumcover.jpg

My favourite album from the 90's, and the 90's are my favourite decade in music. Hopefully everyone and their dog has listened to this album a few times over, so you should know why this is here. My first real development into good music is when I was 10 or 11 and hearing Smells Like Teen Spirit. I then picked up the album, and was introduced to the world of Grunge which introduced me into some of my favourite bands like Alice In Chains, Foo Fighters, Nirvana (duh), Pearl Jam, etc. Every track on this album is gold, and I pretty much like them all equally. I do have a soft spot for Breed as it was the first song I learned to play on my drums. :)

3.) The Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden
the_number_of_the_beast2.jpg

Wow. My introduction into metal, which came after my introduction into grunge. The first Maiden song I heard was Run to the Hills, so I immediately bought the album. After 3 months the album hadn't left my CD player (I had most of my music on the computer, but I liked the CD player's sound more so I always played it from there). Honestly, this was my gateway album in which I found tons of bands because I loved the sound of the guitars, the amazing bass work of Steve Harris, the wailing vocals of Bruce, and the drums which Nikko isn't even playing on this album! From T#otB, I became introduced to stuff like Black Sabbath to Megadeth to Pantera to Death to At the Gates. My gateway to metal, plus I love every song to death. It was also the first entire album I learned to play on drums.

2.) Crack the Skye by Mastodon
mastodon-crack-the-skye.jpg

This might be slightly biased as this was released in March, but never before have I fallen so hard and fast for anything involving music. Brann Dailor is also my favourite drummer ever and I use a lot of Brann-esque stuff in my playing. Every song is amaaaaaazzzzzzzing. Oblivion is as good of an opening track as I've heard, Divinations is probably my 2nd favourite song by Mastodon (most listened to on Last.fm, but that doesn't count CD plays or record plays, etc.), and the rest of the album is as good if not better than those two. I'd have to say The Czar is my favourite song by Mastodon, and the play count would be higher if it wasn't 10 minutes long. That's three plays of Divinations for every play of The Czar! Anyway, this slot could change any time, but then again so could any other slot. But as of the exact moment in time, it sits @ #2.

1.) The Second Stage Turbine Blade by Coheed and Cambria
CoheedAndCambriaSSTB.jpg

My favourite band, my favourite album. I've seen them once already and I'm seeing them again this August in support of Heaven & Hell. This whole album has probably been played uncountable times from start to finish in everything that I can fit a CD in. I love it so much I bought the re-release version also just for the 3 bonus tracks that were only Elf Tower and two demos :|. But alas, I can't get enough of this album and I don't think this place will ever change, unless some new crazy good band comes and moves it. But I've never found anything I like more. I'm actually getting the dragonfly tattoo'd onto the inside of my bicep once I get the money.

Yeah, there ya go. How about everyone else then, eh?

"90125" by Yes. A beautiful high-tech 80's revival for a great alt rock band from the 70's. I still hear "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" on the radio now and again. (Trivia-That song was actually thought of and written while taking a dump!) My personal favorite: "Our Song". Just heavenly sound.

Yes' next album, "Big Generator". A thrilling sequel album, I actually like this one even more. Every track is a work of art. This is one of the few albums I will actually sit and listen to in its entirety, song after song. My personal favorite: "Final Eyes", "Love Will Find A Way", and "I'm Running". Yes, it's a 3-way tie, every song here is so competitive in greatness.

Yes, it's considerably more mainstream than the first two, but I stand by it: "Europop" by Eiffel65. I started by tracking down the infectious "Da Ba Dee Da Ba Die" song, but then realized that I love pretty much everything here. Yes, half of them are just techno filler, but they're great for just relaxing and listening. Basically my high school years memories are late dark nights with this album. The late 90's shall live on forever in our hearts...

Beyond that, I mostly just like one or two of an artist's songs. I may add an album if I can remember any that I completely love.

Cant get enough of The Incident right now.. But probably Nil Recurring just due to "Normal"-Porcupine Tree. But seriously any thing by them could be my favorite. Theyre that great.
Blackfeild II-Blackfeild.
Animals-Pink Floyd.
The Dark Third-Pure Reason Revolution.
The Beatles-Revolver.. Much as I hate to admit I like them due to the current fad of RB freaks overkilling.
Led Zeppelin I-IV and house of the holy and everything by them. ever.

Okay here are mine (note, not in order of best to worst):

RedHotChiliPeppersCalifornication.jpg

Californication (The Red Hot Chili Peppers): This album marks the return of John Fruschiante, the lead guitarist who had left due to drug problems and features two of the most meaningful songs of my life (Scar Tissue and Californication)

Fall_Out_Boy_-_From_Under_the_Cork_Tree_-_CD_album_cover.jpg

From Under the Cork Tree (Fall Out Boy): Well, this album came out when I was in my angsty teenager stage. For about a year, I basically listened to this album non-stop. So yeah.

Ready_To_Die.jpg

Ready to Die (The Notorious B.I.G)

Listening to the lyrics now, knowing how he and rival coastal rap titan 2Pac were shot and killed, is kind of chilling in a way. This is his debut album, the only one released before he was gunned down, and the album that brought East Coast hip-hop back.

Alleyezonme.jpg

All Eyez on Me (2Pac)

All Eyez on Me is the final album that 2Pac released before his death under that name (He released the 7 Day Theory under the stage name Makaveli) and is considered by many to be his magnum opus. The album features some of the most raw emotion I have seen in rap music, and it also puts Pac's incredible talent on display.

I love your list, OP

5. Jagged - Gary Numan

He rose to status in the late seventies with an electronic-pop single called 'Cars', pretty much two decades later, he's shifted from that genre to a darker and edgier sound. Industrial music is my favourite kind, and this album really enforces that, along with Pure which was released in Y2K. Best songs off it? Probably Slave and Blind.

Unkle_War_Stories.jpg

4. War Stories - UNKLE

UNKLE is pretty much a guy and collaborators most of the time. Josh Homme recorded a song called Restless off it, and so I decided to give it a try and bought it. I was damn impressed and it deserves a spot here. Best songs? Mayday, Restless and Hold My Hand.

The-Cure-Greatest-Hits-200600.jpg

3. Greatest Hits - The Cure

With such a vast discography, it was hard to pick an album from the bunch. The Greatest Hits CD pretty much has it all, barring my favourite Cure song -- Figurehead. It has some of the best songs from each album and the usual ones that hit the charts.

2. The Fragile - Nine Inch Nails

I never really liked Downward Spiral as an album, there would be a song that I liked and then one that I didn't like. The Fragile had 24-tracks on 2 discs and a plethora of colourful and muted track listing. Yet it received half the acclaim TDS did. What gives? The best song off it? Into the Void.

1. Throwing Copper - Live

This is an album that reminds me so heavily of my childhood in the 90's that sometimes I turn into a wuss and sob. I love Ed Kowalczy's straining vocals, and the overall post-grunge movement the band has. Everytime I listen to this, I will not skip a track. It needs to be listened in full. It's known for Lightning Crashes, which is a lyrically and musically beautiful song but the album itself should not be left unheard.

A rough top 6 From worst to best. I'd be here all day explaining why, so I'll just leave it at as a simple list for now.
