Before the "HeartGold" and "SoulSilver" titles were announced, we saw these games coming. What we didn't guess were Heart and Soul.
So, before the titles were revealed, what did you think they would be?
Or, could you suggest better titles?

I thought of: SunGold & MoonSilver

Golden Sun and Silver Moon. Except that there's already a game called Golden Sun, so no... Golden Smile and Silver Tears, of the anime opening. Though "Pokémon: Silver Tears" would be too sad for a title 8P

I originally thought they would go with SolidGold & PureSilver, or something like that.

Um, I thought Pure Silver and Brave Gold. I suppose I wasn't too far off.

The TCG set EX Unseen Forces is rooted entirely in Johto Pokémon and their relatives. Its Japanese name is Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean, with the English theme decks being called... Golden Sky and Silvery Ocean. So I could not get the idea that they were going with GoldSky and SilverOcean out of my head, even though they obviously wouldn't as not to cause confusion. So yeah.

Too lazy to have come up with any original titles of my own, and I knew they would suck. HeartGold and SoulSilver is easily one of the best options they could have gone with, if not the best.

Oh, dangit, now I'm going to be listening to OK! for the next fifteen minutes. :p

As I stated in another thread:
HeartGold and SoulCRYSTAL

Or better yet:
Fool's Gold and Sterling Silver
rather dull titles for Pokemon's best

That's exactly what I thought, too, including the "wait Golden Sun is already a GBA game" part.

Also worth noting is that Nintendo seems to own http://www.pokemonwhitegold.com, so I thought that was a possibility, too.

I always liked the idea of Shiny Gold. And um well.... I can't think of one for Silver. But HeartGold and SoulSilver is the way to go in my opinion.

Out of all the possible titles people suggested, I probably found Shiny Gold and Solid Silver/ Gold Sky and Silver Ocean the most plausible. I never invented any alternate titles for the games myself, nor can I say I ever saw HG/SS being the real titles (I'm willing to bet real money on the fact that none of us really thought HG/SS as possible titles).

I had several opinions.

Brass/Tin, more of just an idea I had for them than what I thought though.
DuskGold/DawnSilver, I thought these were the most likely due to unconfirmed reports that they were trademarked by Nintendo. Turned out to be false though.

After finding out that Nintendo owned www.pokemonwhitegold.com, I thought that they would release the remakes as a single game called Pokemon WhiteGold Version. Since White Gold is an alloy of gold that has a silvery appearance, it seemed like a perfect way of combining the two versions.

I always liked DuskGold and DawnSilver...
The alliteration of SoulSilver and the lack of it in HeartGold bothers me.
I'm OCD like that... but seriously the inconsistency, people. :spin:

umm i once thought about Midday Gold and Midnight Silver. i also thought about not putting gold and silver in the names and was just thinking Midday Sun and Midnight Moon, but that would not of worked.

I really did thought it was Golden Sun and Silver Moon
Because these 2 appeared in the japanese theme song "OK!" (the 3rd Pokemon theme song)
