By having six Pokemon with the fighting, flying, ground, ice, ghost, and grass types in your party, you'd be super effective against any enemy you faced!

Or Levitate Bronzong, Kingdra, Dialga, and Palkia

Mamoswine, Breloom and Honchkrow/Drifblim on your team and you've got STAB'd super effective attacks against every type. They obviously don't cover every dual type, though. ;-)

ok, a honchrow, a frosslass, brelloom w/t foresight, a garchomp, rampardos, and (Insert fire type here)
you would cover everything

Darn... forgot about dual-types. And I also forgot that it's not a Pokemon's type that makes them super effective-it's their moves :p

Considering that you are able to use moves outside of your own type, its probably smarter to just make a team that can resist all 17 types.

Girafarig, and the aforementioned Spiritomb/Sableye/Palkia/Kindgra
Spiritomb, Kingdra and Palkia still carry over for Shellder's theory.
