Am I paranoid, or is something amiss?

Alright, I'm not sure where to post this, but I hope this is as good a place as any.

I've been following the legal spat between Archaic and Studio Bebop, the latter releasing a Pokédex app for the iPhone that failed to properly credit Bulbapedia for its information. The last I heard, Bebop's site is offline, and Archaic announced that work would be done towards creating a free app, working together with Gomu Gomu, another developer. However, Gomu Gomu already has a few Pokémon apps on the App Store... or should I say had, because they were removed for some inexplicable reason. I checked their website, and the appa in question were dropped from the list of produced apps they have there.

Now, this is where my natural paranoia kicks in. I've always wanted Bulbapedia in app form, so I was excited when Archaic made the announcement to work with Gomu Gomu to produce one. But now that existing apps have been recalled, I'm not sure what this means for the future of Poképedia Evolved. Are the recalled apps merely undergoing renovation in order to better encompass Bulbapedia's wishes on how the apps should work, or is Gomu Gomu having second thoughts about cooperating with Archaic and the gang?

Again, this is just paranoia driving these concerns, and I'm sure there's some logical reason behind the removal. I'm just not sure what it is...

Sorry to take up your time with such a foolish question.

Actually, that's a perfectly valid question.

Gomu Gomu's leader informed me earlier today that Nintendo had, through way of Apple, requested that their applications be removed from the ap store. Not wanting to get in any legal trouble, he did so. Probably safe to say that Studio Bebop got a similar takedown notice, as would others. Probably also safe to say that Nintendo took notice of what we posted up in our news articles and decided to take action themselves.

This doesn't preclude an app being created in the future, it just means that if we do go and create one, we'll be asking Nintendo for permission first.
