What an incredible time to be alive. I haven't seen such scenes of jubilation since the Berlin Wall fell.

I hope Donald Trump's political defeat is just the start. I hope this fantastic moment inspires people in countries like Belarus, Brazil, Russia, et cetera, to continue fighting their own totalitarian strongmen leaders. The American people have proven that it can be done. One down!

Hopefully, considering the fight in the north (Nicaragua) is still ongoing.
 
The more Trump persists, the more he sounds and comes across like one of those corny defeated supervillains from decades old cartoons. Any politicians who continue to stand with him at this point risk losing any credibility they might hold.

Just wow, didn't know this forum is basically a pro Biden crowd. The US' economy was doing well before Covid-19. Trump got rejected in 2020 because he didn't know how to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. I disagree with the ways Trump used to fight the Covid-19, but he improved a lot of things during his administration. A lot of urbanoid youngsters voting for Biden have no ideia of how it is to run a business and pay taxes (My parents' experience). This is why I love to live in the countryside, I hate this urbanoid people.

It was worse than him merely not knowing how to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Trump darn well knew what he was doing. He intentionally politicized the heck out of it and caused far more death and hurt than was necessary.

A large part of the reason I voted for Biden is the above and also the fact that Trump has spent his entire administration attacking LGBT rights. I am a member of the LGBT community. Call me some "urbanoid youngster", whatever. Anyone who takes away the rights of minorities and other disadvantaged groups is pure evil to me. And I mean, there are so many other reasons that Trump is straight-up evil.
 
I don't care if he's apparently improved something in economics or whatever. And I know Biden isn't perfect, either.

The point is, I'm sick and tired of Trump's personality. He just embodies practically everything I hate about America's 'proud' side.
No longer do I want to see 'Trump disallows transgender people from joining the military', 'Trump mocks Puerto Ricans with towels' 'Trump compels people to engage in anti-mask protests', 'Trump mocks LGBT people', and other shit.
 
I don't know how much of an "urbanoid" I am, either. Lol. I don't live in the countryside, but I do not live in a big city either, I live in a medium sized town on the outskirts of a bigger city. But here's the thing - that city is not liberal. Nowhere in my state is. Every single county voted for that deplorable man in both elections.

I mean, yeah. If you don't know how to handle a virus, and you say stuff like "I'm gonna fire Dr. Fauci after the election" like he did at a rally, or say "COVID19 isn't worse than the flu", or "Oh you're wearing a mask because you want to be politically correct", then it's obvious people are gonna want to vote against you, especially when the other candidate will listen to Fauci, acknowledge the danger, and wear a mask.

  1. Do you have any sources to prove that?
  2. People without businesses still have a right to vote, because government affects everyone. Lots of older people have no idea what it's like to deal with student debt and entry-level jobs in today's economy, but they still get to vote for representatives.
  3. Starting a business is something that requires a lot of time and money. Not everyone has the resources to do it, so why should that mean that their voice doesn't matter as much?
  4. I think I can say with a fair amount of certainty that there's not ever going to be a point in history where everyone in the US is a businessowner. (With an adult population of 328.2 million, even if every business had four owners, that'd be 82.05 million businesses, and according to the US Office of Small Businesses, there's only 31.7 million small businesses now. I'm hardly an expert economist, but I think it'd be pretty crazy if there were 50 million more businesses in today's economy)
  5. Plenty of businesses are anti-Trump, too. Heck, at the start of his 2016 campaign, Macy's discontinued his products because of his remarks about immigrants.
  6. Given that Trump's exploited bankruptcy laws and tax loopholes to pay only 750$ in taxes, not to mention regularly saying things totally out of touch with working class America ("nobody knows really what a community college is", "They have not treated the Midwest well with broadband, with anything having to do with the word “computer.” I look at some of those tractors, and they don’t even hook up.", "You know, if you go out and you want to buy groceries, you need a picture on a card, you need ID. You go out and you want to buy anything, you need ID and you need your picture."), it's hard to believe he genuinely has an interest in the taxes of small business owners.

And I said to myself, if they can stay so poor for so many generations, maybe this isn't the kind of person we want to be electing to higher office. How smart can they be? They're morons.   7. There's more issues than just taxes at stake. Some people might even be completely aware of a possible tax increase and still think it's better than re-electing Trump. Politics isn't just what gets deducted from your paycheck.

I wonder, does that statistic account for population growth over that time? Not that I think it's made up, because I know he has minority supporters and his "voice of the working class" act won over some people, but at the same time, he only got 8% of black voters in 2016, but then that was also more than Romney, so... I don't know, I flipflop on how accurate it sounds. I'll have to look it up.

What has Trump done for the economy, but set it up for pain. He took Obama's recovery and took credit for it. His tax cut for rich, did little. He bullied the Fed Reserve into cutting the discount rate to 0%, so now if Covid causes a recession (very likely, if venues stay closed for 9 -18 months more) the Government can't use that to stimulate the economy. His trade war with China was a stunt hasn't hurt China, but increased bankruptcies among farmers.

I question if you have any clue on how to "run a business and pay taxes" without realizing the urbanoid people are driving your economy. In the red state, I live rural folks are hurting unless they are near a population center. When the city was building the local arena 18 years ago, it was printed that 10 counties paid more in taxes than receive in services and the remaining 83 counties that took more in services than paid in taxes.
