:rs079:an expsition at school, two whole classes watching...and I happen to reveal my Pokemon obsession by accident, my USB card had some screenshots I made and some episode clips I had, but I forgot those were there, a friend starts up my laptop, and opens my USB card..the nightmare starts, at first I didn't understand why they were laughing, then I look at the proyection, and I see all the screenshots and the ep previews, then I had to scroll all the way down to the presentation, I could barely do it...don't know how I managed to get out, but I did...and you?, did something like this ever happen to you? (accidentally revealing your pokemon obsession?:rs079:

I wear a homemade Pokémon shirt sometimes (yes, IN PUBLIC, TO SCHOOL), but no one cares. I used to be embarrassed about it in middle and early high school, though. Who cares, really?

If anyone ever realized my Pokemon obsession, they probably wouldn't live long enough to tell anyone. ;-)

I once slipped on a banana peel while walking down the hall and fell. Yes...like out of some bad cartoon...I slipped on a banana peel.

Numerous mumbling/stumblings through presentations in front of classes.

During two separate field trips in first grade I threw up or peed my pants.

I cried a lot until, like...ninth grade. In front of many, many people.

Ripped my pants during the first class of the day and couldn't get in contact with anyone who could get me an extra pair.

Fell down the stairs at school AT LEAST once.

Friend of mine accidentally spilled a drink on my pants...making it LOOK like I peed my pants.

So many stories...so amazing how I can laugh at myself now.

I once stood in front of the class to give an oral book report, only to have my mind go completely blank.

I hear you...I will probably die tomorrow...

Nope!

I was always a militant pokemon fanboy. ^_^ Still should go about forming an anti-anti-pokemon group one of these days...

Nah, everyone always knew I was a pokemon fan throughout middle and high school. Used to wear pokemon shirts and play the games in class. And no one actually cared.

I have tales of other embarrasing things that happened, but I've been trying to repress them all.

I don't wear shirts of any game or band that I like, really, with the exception of one free tour shirt I got at Dave two summers ago.

So it's never really an issue...

If your "friends" are laughing at you about it and have lost respect or something, then are they really your friends?

I have very few friends because of the type of people I like and the few people who share interests, but the friends I do have are the best, most special people to me. If you've got such crappy "friends," perhaps it is time to reevaluate who your friends really are.

Or were any of your friends laughing at you? (You implied this, but I don't know if that's what you meant or not)

Either way, you shouldn't let it bother you. I had some Pokemon shirts and stuff I wore. Whatever. People thought I was weird, but I let my grades and my superior standing with teachers and other people speak for itself. If person x didn't like me, they weren't worth my time and still aren't. You shouldn't let other people's perception of you get to you. I know I don't.

well, my friends were trying to close the slideshow, but preety much everyone else laughed...

Ask them in all earnesty what they find so amusing about your taste in series. When confronted like that, they'll have to answer, so you'll be ready for them.

I haven't really revealed a rabid interest in Pokemon like that, but my friends have kinda picked up on it when I watch episodes in both languages and draw Team Rocket like a madwoman. But when I mention something about Pokemon to people I don't know, and a conversation has been going on, it shuts them up very quickly. ^^;; For example, yesterday a couple of friends were talking about what they get really really excited about, and I said when they were going to dub Housou into English, and this very pregnant pause happened.
My roommate does watch it with me sometimes, and that's nice. She says, "Some things you don't really grow out of." ^_^

back when I was really INTO pokemon, I used to bring those gummy pokemon snacks with me to school. haha :)

my friends came over to my house recently and saw a picture of a laparas I drew on my wall (its such a pretty picture so I leave it up!) and then saw my 2ba master cd. which is broken btw. haha "why do you have this pokemon stuff in here?"
"why not ?_? that picture I drew a few years ago, and I like it. and that cd, well..it was my first cd ever and it broke  I dunno why I still have it"

my friends dont care.

rofl. well I do remember this.. my brothers friend came over once a few years ago, and I was browsing tpm I think, and he was like "UGH POKEMON!?"

then the next day at school, he was like "all you do is look at 'those guys' on the computer" which made it sound like I watched porn or something, when he really meant pokemon. why he said pokemon = "those guys" is beyond me  rofl.

but looking back I have to laugh. the look of disbelief on this one girls face. priceless :-D

Well, most people my age group remember Pokémon, but no one actually admits to still liking it. A few ones in years 7 - 8 still do, from what I can see though.

The closest anyone will come to "accidentally" discovering my obsession... well, a Google search is easy enough to reveal this and my other interests. Besides that there are the contents of my iPod.

I don't like Pokemon as much as I did seven years ago. I still have a genuine interest for the games, though. Some people know, but luckily most people just don't give a second thought to it. Some of my female friends even find it kinda "cute". :p

i dont have any embarrasments like that

i got into pokemon when one of the first pokemon crazes hit australia back in 1999 and still into pokemon. everyone in my grade at school knows i still like pokemon.

The only people I know off of the internet who are into Pokémon now are eight years old, so I haven't mentioned it.

I'm pretty sure that was my first CD ever, too! Either that, or the Roketto-Dan CD Drama. XD Oh, wonderous. LMAO.
