I'm thinking of an idea for a Pokemon fic, However, I am not exactly a decent writer. The story revolves around an Original region, and sort of a cross between Medieval and modern times for the setting. There are organisations that take in recruits and new citizens every year at the Harvest festival at the beginning of a new year, and these organisations have their own myths and legends and abilities. I Have so far thought of the Fire Knights(Who live on a volcano and guard its secrets), The Water Colonies(Whom have 2 cities on the ocean and one in the largest lake), The Sky Wardens(Have a large tower, operates the mail service, and for some reason eats worms(explanations only if asked)), The Ice Warriors(Live on a frozen peak and guard its secrets), the Shock Guards(Guard a cloudy peak and guard its secrets), The Brotherhood of Chaos(Antagonists that roam the land, trying to desecrate and destroy. Use Ghost, Dark, Psychic and Normal), and the reclusive Dragon Clan( They refuse to leave their home with the exception of the Harvest Festival). The story will center around an orphan and revolves around his life. Will feature romance, betrayal, some outlandish concepts(possibly), and swords. Will need some convincing before I make a start.

I find it a bit iffy that you need pushing to start it. :(

But, that point aside, I like the idea: it certainly sounds interesting, and you would have a reader in me if you did it.

Well like I said I'm not a decent writer, and I just wanted to run the concept by some people and gauge interest.

The idea *does* sound interesting. Maybe you should ask for a beta reader...?

But you can learn! Like Windywords said, get a beta- if you'd like, I'd even volunteer. If you're serious about writing, anyone can learn how to improve themselves.

Alright, I'm now calling for beta readers!

My only concern is the Brotherhood of Chaos. They sound like a cool idea to include but what is their group motivation? Are they a kind of cult? In that case, what is the motivation of the people/person in charge? (Please don't make them a Galactic clone.)

Also, it sounds like the Brotherhood of Chaos would actually be the strongest faction of all. After all, they control four types while the others presumably control only one each. Particularly since Ghost, Dark, Psychic and Normal are all pretty versatile types that can learn a lot of moves and, as such, have a lot of type advantages, all the while defending one another against every weakness. Would be interesting to see how the other clans defend against them... would they have to team up perhaps?

The Brotherhood of Chaos is more of a cross between a cult, army, and tribal clannish structure. Don't worry, they aren't trying to destroy the universe, Their main goals are to enslave, destroy all resistance, and rule through fear & intimidation.(Try to take over the land is basically what I'm getting at.) They aim to do this by [Censored due to plot details] and then they [Censored due to plot details]. Speaking of Galactic, the Dragon Trio have a Legend in the land and are revered by the Dragon clan as [Censored due to plot details].

The other organisations do not exactly have a restriction on types. The Fire Knights Primarily use Fire types, however, their environment also means that a few Knights have Rock types as well. The experienced members of each faction are allowed to catch and train different types, however it is difficult to train other types for reasons I'll explain in the fic.
