Silly me.

I've made 4 posts prior to this one, and I haven't even introduced myself until now! This is what happens when you get caught up in discussions about possible Gen V Eeveelutions...

Anyway...good morning, good afternoon, or good night, wherever you may be. I am FusengerShadow, known in many other places around the digital realm as Shadowbird712, DarkSoldier712, or just plain Shadow (or even SB). I'm an old fogey by 'net standards, as I am 25 and have been around the 1s and 0s for well over a decade. My gaming journey stretches back as far as the original NES, and my Pokémon journey goes back all the way to the beginning, at least the North American beginning, with Red and Blue.

Back when my local K-mart still had display units of the latest console and handheld games, I remember coming across a very unique-looking top-down RPG for the Gameboy where it was not the main character that fought, but his pet creatures. I remember spending several minutes at a time probably messing up my neck looking upward at the TV screen to which the Gameboy was connected, trying to get as far as I could before the timed-reset kicked in. I remember enjoying it, despite the neck pain it game me then.

I also remember when the Gameboy Pocket and Color came out about at the same time. I distinctly remember opting for the pocket version rather than the color, which in retrospect probably wasn't a great decision, as it limited the games I could play. But I had my parents buy it and Pokémon Red, and I played it until the batteries ran down. (Needless to say, I started playing it with the AC adapter plugged in as much as possible after that.)

I didn't get to play the Gen II games as much as I'd liked, at least not until much later (and um, only after the GBC's obsolescence, so I had to play them "creatively"), and I missed out on Gen III almost entirely (I did get to play them a little bit, but I wasn't impressed). However, as birthday present allowed me to be able to come back to Pokémon in the 4th generation, with Pearl, which renewed the love that I'd all but forgotten. That love was displaced for a period of time after said birthday DS disappeared while coming back from a trip, but when I was able to buy myself a new DSi, the first game I picked up for it was Platinum. The third new game I bought? SoulSilver (Lugia's one of my favorites). (Btw, the second was Kirby Super Star Ultra. Shh. Don't tell anyone.)

tl;dr version

*actually read whole post* D8 long post was long... but informing ^_^. Oi,oi--welcome to the Garden, I'm HH.

Welcome, and you will be suprised how many people do actually follow idiots within a selected group, one example could be the German people electing to follow Adolf Hiter prior to world war two, or how many people "i herd u liek mudkipz" followed Lennin to overthrow the Tsar in the Russian revolution, or even a more modern example of how people follow what Hubbard calls his religion, scientology. So really alot of people really do follow the idiot.

oh did i say welcome.

Yes, HH, I am long-winded, but only because I try to be thorough. I'd rather hit everything I want to say than cut important stuff out just because might not be listening anymore. lol

And Izumoshep, that is true, there are people who will readily follow idiots. Wisdom, however, is being able to point out crap and refusing to help spread it. Unfortunately, people tend to only see the people with the spreaders and overlook the people trying to clean it up. But that's not a debate for a place like this, as it is heavy and likely to unintentionally cause trouble, which I for one do not want. :)

=3 well argued. I applaud.

Silly me again! I forgot something in the intro.

Hope y'all don't shoot me for this, but the username is actually derived from a non-existent Super Sentai group that I came up with, Konton Sentai Fusenger (Chaos Squadron Fusion Ranger). They combine powers from all that went before them to create a great power, based on natural elements. Fusenger Shadow's element is that of darkness, a departure from most leaders being associated with fire. Also, his colors are not red, but black and silver. :)

Best color combo ever.

Indeed. Too bad we don't have any Pokémon with that specific combo, really (although my favored Umbreon comes close with gold on black).

lol FusengerShadow you missed the meme, and Welcome once again, enjoy yourself.

I spotted it, but I didn't call attention to it. I'm just not a meme person, although I do have my own personal running jokes.

*Just read the first bit lol*

Hey, lol you beat me though, This is my 581st post and I still haven't intro'd myself haha :p

Anywho welcome to the forums and have lots of fun here! :D
