I had noticed something for quite a while, and it is that the RPGs on this forum have a habbit of dying out really quickly. Maybe it is because we are all moving onto bigger, better things, maybe we are getting too much work to do, or maybe we are having trouble with our computers.
so, what I'm gonna do is start an RPG which is going to be one final big push, one final attempt at an RPG that goes from start to finish, and won't break down.
it's very simple. just the adventure of trainers to gain the badges needed for the league. no storyline, no tangles with team rocket (unless I decide to throw them in somewhere) nothing too drastic.
just put your info into the form provided and we'll discuss a few things. I'll put the rules up after the form
here is the form, I'll post an example with my data to help out too
Name: (Character's name)
Age: (Character's age)
Field of Expertise: (what job they have, status of trainer or group they belong to)
Physical Description: (what they look like)
Personality: (how they act in various situations and in general)
Catchphrase(optional): (a short phrase or word your character says often)
Pokemon: (which pokemon your character has (no legendaries, legendaries will be considered God Modding) and what they are like, and if they have an atribute that seperates them from other pokemon (if you are a trainer who is going for badges, you can make them a shiny, and maybe an extra move or ability that makes your pokemon unique (but nothing too extreme). if you are not going for badges, then you can go for something a little more extravagent. also, we're doing a pokemon TV show format, so you don't have to limit your pokemon to four moves)
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
(if you are going to recieve a pokemon, place your desired pokemon in the one slot and leave two to six blank)
Talent: (a character's talent which can make your travels a little more interesting)
Badges?: (whether you are going for the Badges or not)
so, here's mine
Name: Josh Vernadi
Age: 18
Field of Expertise: a master trainer, and a top agent in a small group determined to stop the threat of the pokemon thief teams (e.g. team rocket) in charge of training other agents
Physical Description: 6'2", shoulder length black hair, green eyes, trainers, jeans, shirt and tweed waist coat. has a scar across his cheeck from past life
Personality: kind, caring, humourus and corageous in a dire situation but keeps a cool and calm attitude
Catchphrase(optional): "oh smeg, here we go again"
Pokemon:
1. Blaziken (with intense training, Blaziken has mannaged to manifest psychic powers, and using these, has the ability to levitate in the air. still trying to master luster purge. also has the ability to talk. almost mimic's Josh's personality but has more common sense)
2. Charizard (is the prankster of the team, usually, when taking a break, he spits embers at the other pokemon)
3. Pidgeot (completley determined with any task, but is very appreciative)
4. Manectric (she is incredebly stuck up with all things, looks down on everyone and everything)
5. Feraligatr (very cheerful, hardly anything that can upset him)
6. Nidoking (very angry, usually attacks anything that gets on his nerves
Talent: music is his talent, and provides the entertainment for many a trainer when they head down the road and bump into him
Badges?: no, just going with other trainers who need advice
ok, that's an example, and my info too. just a few rules to abide by
1. when in Player v NPC combat, you have full control over your opponant. However, you can't say that one hit takes them out, as you do need to show some effort and you will need to have some of your pokemon KO'd.
2. when in Player v Player combat, you can't say that your attack hit's your opponant, you have to let your opponant decide. and you can't say that you can dodge every attack.
3. if a player has a link to another player (e.g. they're siblings) then please discuss it before hand. we don't want alot of confusion.
4. with travel, you have to be realistic. you can't read another player's post and say you got to the next location before them, especially if you are a starting trainer. it can be seen as a form of godmodding
5. unless you are part of team rocket, pokemon stealing isn't allowed. and if you are part of team rocket, you can't say that you have stolen the pokemon and mannaged to get away scot free, and you can't say that the pokemon you stole immidiatley bends to your will, as they are still loyal to their trainer (depending on what the player says)
6. during the league, I'll put up the match ups, so you may be in a NPC battle or a player battle
ok, with this all aside, just post if you want to take part, fill in the form and ask any questions you feel need answering.
