Hi guys,

Currently our Anime forum is very centralised on the airings of episodes from Japan. We have preview threads for Japanese episodes only, have no policy on spoilers in posts and do not ask users to censor thread titles to not spoil dub viewers. This is an aspect of the Anime forum that we here on the Anime staff feel is important as we do not want to inconvenience our users by asking them to put a great deal of their posts under spoiler tags or make them use ambigous thread titles.

Due to this, we have decided to plan a social group where users may discuss the Anime in a spoiler-free zone. Alongside user-created topics, it shall have preview threads for dub episodes as well as measures against users intentionally posting spoilers. Anyone may join the social group and see its contents if they have not joined.

It may seem odd for us to use a social group rather then a sub-forum, but we feel that in the interest of our sole-dub viewers, we would not want them to accidentally see spoilers in thread titles on their way to the sub-forum. With a social group, users do not have to face any risks as the social group will be accessed in a different location from the Anime forum.

We hope to have the social group up and running by the 17th September, in time for that day's dub episode (Iris and Excadrill Against the Dragon Buster!). If you have any comments, concerns or ideas for the social group, you may leave them in this thread.

- The Pokémon Anime staff.

I have two questions:

1) Where will review threads for dub episodes be located? Here or Social Group?
2) Will there be a (anime forum) moderator who will take care of the social group?

That's it for now.

1) Where will review threads for dub episodes be located? Here or Social Group?

We will create two review threads for each dub episode; one located in the main Anime forum as usual and the other in the social group. We know that some episodes foreshadow future ones and we wouldn't want to stop our users who liked to post about how the dub handled the foreshadowing, given the future information that they know.

2) Will there be a (anime forum) moderator who will take care of the social group?

The Anime staff shall be maintaining and moderating the social group.

Really? I never realised there wasn't any rules on posting spoilers in the main anime thread. I was quite surprised when I saw that Meowth thread but luckily, it didn't bother me.

Yeah, I mentioned something in that Meowth thread and was (very mildly) warned with disciplinary action for doing so, though fortunately that seems to have blown over now.

I think this idea is great, but I'd like the point something very important out:

The Series that begun with Ash's Arrival in Unova perhaps is the first series where there has been things of major "spoiler" magnitude aside from the outcome of matches which were already expected to have taken place or which Pokémon the main characters catch.

Basically it means the animé is for once actually doing things that aren't predictable or expected, and the community's spoiler policy was pretty much unprepared for it, I don't think anyone's at fault here.

DP was just as unpredictable, so I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. There is no spoiler policy so I also don't know how anyone was unprepared for it.
