Am I the only one who just can not stand that one Marril they've been putting in these shorts recently? It's like someone said "Hey, remember Jigglypuff? Let's tear out all the charm and humour from that character and turn the leftover husk into another rotund, stubby limbed pokemon!"/whinge.

I sort of glossed over this one the first time around because it was largely Pikachu & Pochama-centric fare, but I think the novelty of having "Soooooonansu!" back for one last hurrah is enough reason to watch it methinks.
 
Meh, I don't remember much about this but w/e. At least the new kids on the block will get to see Ash's end of Sinnoh Pokemon.

They're airing a short instead of a new episode? The hell?

They must really need to kill some time for some reason.
 
Oh yeah, this episode has Sonansu and Manene. ;w; Might just watch it for them.
 
This special was featured on ANA flights prior to the end of DP. It is very odd that TV TOKYO has decided to air a Pikachu short that is well over a year old and has already been released on DVD in Japan on the actual programming block (not on Smash). This is especially odd considering that this is the first time that TV TOKYO has done this for a Pikachu short.
 
This is disgusting. So we're missing out on a new BW episode (which will overall mean BW will have less episodes), for an old Pikachu short?

This is the same stunt they pulled with DP. They gave us two awful clip shows, which means the DP series was technically only 189 episodes, not 191 like people believe. I feel we missed out on 2 league episodes because of that.
 
I wouldn't go as far as calling it disgusting. We did just have a two parter with no break, perhaps this is the 'break'. Anyway, I'm not complaining. I've always wanted to see this special in particular.

No, they're still airing Pokemon in Pokemon's timeslot. The two-parter ate Naruto's timeslot, so to make up for that, they'll have to air Naruto in Pokemon's timeslot. This is a standard airing.
 
I kinda of like the fact they're airing something a little different. Because unless you either were on an ANA flight or have the DVD, you've probably never seen this short.

So, I still wonder why they're airing a Pikachu short instead of a new episode though, but I will be happy to see the Pokemon from DP again though.
 
My guess is that they're airing this to get everything back on track. The episodes we've been getting every Thursday since March are airing a week early because of the skipped Plasma eps (this is especially obvious with that "Zorroa the Movie" episode), so this special airing now is probably an attempt to correct that messed up schedule.
 
Actually, we're still two weeks ahead. The Plasma episodes weren't going to air together.

Though I agree the special is airing so OLM can catch up a bit.
 
I just wonder when we're getting a real break. Naruto still has an episode to catch up - you'd think they'd prioritize that instead of stalling with a "rerun".

I don't watch the anime since the first part and the whole streak of fillers but Naruto is not pokemon, they just need to cut a filler episode or something.

Oh and back in the league, we got a break for a Naruto special at a critical point in the anime it was yet another reason for last league to be rushed and we didn't get a special after that to compensate.

No, but Naruto airs right after Pokemon, and when Pokemon does 1-hour specials, it's forced to take a break due to that. You can talk about the value of "filler" all you want, but the fact is that the series is one episode short now because Pokemon ate its slot.

No, Naruto had a 1-hour special July 29th to make up for the 2-hour Pokemon special the 8th (the Arceus movie airing). All breaks were compensated for, there.
