My friend wants to know if there are any good anime about people transforming into animals out there she already saw Ranma 1/2 but wants to watch another, if you have any suggestions please tell me so i can tell her

Re: Animal Anime

Tokyo Mew Mew if shes into shojo

Wolf's Rain too, if that counts.

-Fruits Basket.
-Spirited Away (kinda)
-Pom Poko (Tanuki (mythical racoons) who are able to turn into Humans) - kinda the opposite of what you're asking for, but it's entertaining to watch
-Dragon Half

Besides Fruits Basket (which I have never watched, although I should someday), I highly recommend these titles, and they should all be currently in print in the US in subbed and dubbed format.

Pretty sure Dragon Half is out of production right now.

Not saying you can't find it at all but... when it's gone it'll be gone. (unless ADV/Sentai decides to rerelease... which may very well happen given their current trends)

There's also the Miyazaki film called, The Cat Returns. It's about a human girl who gets turned into a cat. ^^

Howls moving castle has wolfs and crows that turn into poeple

Aside from the ones mentioned, I'm not sure I can think of any others.

Would your friend be picky about anime that feature characters that already are animals or humans with animal-like features?

Yeah, if she liked Ranma 1/2 she'd probably fall in love with Fruits Basket,
It's a good show all together anyways. It's one of those programs that goes beyond demographic appeal. (I'm not one for Shojo titles, but fruits basket was really good, although I wish it was longer.)

Fruits Basket is really good, and I don't even care for a lot of shoujo titles.

So, yeah. I definitely recommend it.

thanks for the suggestions
