Animated Iron Man Movie Trailer

IGN has a preview for the upcoming animated Iron Man movie (coming to DVD January 23 (I think) 2007). And, I have to say...looks pretty good. Has a few different armors (although his original armor is apparently designed after Iron Giant, from the movie of the same name), and appears to feature Mandarin as the main villain (with four "elementals" and a dragon also appearing). Also has the same animation style as the Ultimate Avengers movies (although he looks fairly different from his Ultimate counterpart).

Will it be as much of a complete mix-up as the Ultimate Avengers movies though?

I mean, if you're going to make an animated movie set in the Ultimate Universe - at least sodding well stick to the Ultimate Universe.

And after having watched the trailer, it seems like this is its own seperate continuity completely. Which is good. In a way, anyway. At least it will avoid the cockup that was the Ultimate Avengers.

Huh? I thought this was in the same Animated Universe as Ultimate Avengers.

Speaking of which, has anyone been watching that F4 cartoon? Does it seem to be in-continuity with UA? I saw five second of the Hulk and Thing fighting, that episode probably would provide answers...

Btw, Ultimate Avengers sucked. And its seuqel. I'm going to be renting this because I don't wna to waste $20 on another crappy animated movie. Hopefully it's better though. Maybe the freedom will provide an all-around better movie?

Anyways, the funny thing is I've seen the UA movies in kids' sections of DVD selling/renting places everywhere. And from a preview on the UA2 disc, there's going to be some hip action going on. Won't that be funny when parents see exactly what is being sold in the wrong part of the aisle?

Iron Man movie is separate from the Ultimate movies as far as I know. Mostly because you'd think that they'd throw the word "Ultimate" into the title to get the Ultimate fanbase interested.

The FF cartoon is closer to the movie storyline than anything else. It's not even that, though. Hank Pym made an appearance in one episode (complete with goatee, because...ok...), and looked nothing like the Ultimate nor the 616 versions (and, I pray to god, nothing like he does in the upcoming Ant-Man movie).

And considering they've shown both Ultimate Avengers movies (and Iron Man will air at some point nearing its release), I doubt there's anything really bad (you wouldn't promote something with sex on a kid's network...at least not until late, late at night), and from what I saw...there wasn't. Aside from MAYBE some slightly graphic violence (and I'm probably wrong about that).

I was mentioning a preview on the Ultimate Avengers 2 disc. Tony and some woman are in a hot tub...

Btw, the Ultimate Avengers movies are not canon to the Ultimate Universe. Just in case anyone is confused. o.o

The Ultimate Avengers movies were a mix of the 616 and Ultimate universes. Hence the title "Ultimate Avengers" and not "Ultimates" or "Avengers".

Anyways, what I'm really looking forward to is the Dr. Strange movie.
