Anime Appearance, Subsequent Game Usage Thread

Alola everyone! I thought I'd make a thread about this since I haven't seen it. Basically, are there any Pokemon, moves, or mechanics that you've seen in the anime that have inspired you to utilize them in your respective Pokemon games? Did an anime appearance change your mind about a certain Pokemon species?

For example, I wasn't too keen on the Aipom line when both members were introduced in Generation's II & IV. However, after seeing Ash/Dawn's Aipom animated, as well as her later evolution into Ambipom, the species and their designs grew on me considerably. Soon, I had my own Aipom in my Pearl, Platinum, and SoulSilver play-throughs. Like Dawn's, mine too was female and made great use of Double Hit .

I always plan my teams ahead but I was having trouble for Moon since very few Gen VII Pokémon seem... appealing for me. Then I liked James' Mareanie so much that I got one for the game.

Edit: I don't remember much but I think that's also how I chose Snivy(?) I love the personality they usually give them, Ash's being a prime example.

I got UM as my first game in some 15 years and a lot of my team choices were made purely on anime preferences (Popplio, Mimikyu, Pikachu, Growlithe...) only later realising that not all species are born equal and that Pikachu is fkn useless

Most of my teams are set up because of their personalities in the anime. I love Seviper because of a combination of Lucy's and Jessie's Seviper. The biggest one by far is my love for Munchlax, it's one of my all-time favourites because of the anime. The anime holds a special place in my heart (ew cringy feels) so ofc. I don't find that I use moves because of the anime because things like Psychic and Confusion work differently.

I have to admit, seeing May's Munchlax also inspired me to raise one as well! However, that didn't happen until Sun & Moon since I could never find on the tree in Sinnoh :/

OH MY GOD SAMEEEEE! I love Munchlax so much because of the anime and I love finding it in the wild :3
