Does anyone besides me get the feeling that, despite all his power, philosophical tendencies and deep psychic voice, Mewtwo has an almost childish mentality? Despite his intelligence, he doesn't seem to know a lot about the world and has a somewhat...almost naive view of his situation and of others (be they pokemon or humans). Does anyone see where I am coming from?

When you think about, he is just a child. Even if he is this big, scary, man-sounding clone guy, he hasn't really been around very long. Even if he knows a lot of scienctific kinda things he might still have a lot to learn about life.

I feel like an idiot for never having thought that before...

Yes, that would explain how one minute he was planning on flooding Earth and the next he was touched by Ash sacrficing himself.

And he is just a kid, really, since he seemed to go in total lockdown once Ambertwo died. So no mental growth since that point I guess.

Didn't help that Dr. Fuji gave him more drugs than a Cheech and Chong movie to stop his wild brain waves in Origin of Mewtwo.

If your only experience with humans (besides Aitwo) is with ones who were utterly using you, you would be reluctant to trust the rest of the species, too.

Yeah, I don't think childish is really the word to use here. Mewtwo appears highly intelligent and shows a deep level of understanding, but as said, when every single human you've been in contact with, including those who seem friendly at first, have had ulterior motives for you, there really isn't any reason to assume that there are humans unlike that out there as well. To understand something, you must first be given the nessecary information, and Mewtwo was just acting on what he knew of the world.
Try comparing him with the Hulk in his childish phase, and you'll see there really aren't that many similarities.

Now this is quite a thread bump, but I disagree strongly Mewtwo is the most intelligent Pokemon in the world and didn't act childish under ths circumstances of his birth. A child couldn't make one of the greatest speeches mankind has ever made.

Also this is off-topic does anyone think Ambertwo might ever comeback? I know she's dead but her DNA is still on New Island I'd assume, think for a second. Would her mother be willing to try and clone her after her husband she left failed and died in trying to. I am sure Team Rocket would fund another cloning experiment and am surprised they haven't already so far.

Last films plot anyone?

Her mother gave up on her when she gave up on her husband. That was why she left, because he wouldn't leave the dead in their graves.

It would be interesting if TR got ahold of the remaining DNA and made a successful clone, but they'd either augment her severely or raise her into a supersoldier.

Also, childish individuals can still be highly intelligent. Look at--...well, would offering up the entire board as an example be too over the top?

But they are advanced of there years, if you look at most children they'd not be as intellectual as the average Pokemon fan.

I am suggesting Team Rocket will get the DNA of Arceus and clone that Pokemon also, wouldn't that be the end of the world partially? Think who's one up from Mew... yep that's right.

Arceus may not have any mythic powers other than creation. Game powers don't always translate to the anime.

I wonder if they'd try to clone Rayquaza, since they have one.

Hmm this post was infraction worthy then? :p Certainly starting worthwhile debate is worth a ban but onto the topic.

He is the God of all Pokemon though? Surely that means he has huge power, the power to destroy the Universe surely...? Think about it all they need is another dead child and his farther willing to clone her for them, the child dies Arceus doesn't history repeats its self!

I would think Arceus can control all other legendary Pokemon anyway and normal ones also, think if Pikachu is commanded to defy Ash in this situation and every single one is. Apart from one, Mewtwo who isn't born a Pokemon but is rather a clone, so doesn't fall under Arceus control...

Can I also ask why you felt the need to reply to my post if it held no value?

Dude, I infracted you for thread necromancy, nothing more nothing less. It has nothing to do with the content of your post, just that you felt the need to bump a thread from a year and a half ago.

Arceus has yet to be identified as anything but the creator of the universe. That doesn't make it a supreme god overseeing all, just an architect with cosmic means.

Well why does it state the post has to add nothing for the thread for it to be that then? I am not questioning you're judgement but reading the rules on infractions as I did before I posted in full, it doesn't add up.

The creator has the all the power though, like mathematics in our world.

Nonsense. You can build a house and have no control as to what goes on in it.

And for crying out loud, it's called thread NECROMANCY. As in bringing stuff back from the dead. A year and a half is DEAD.

Please note: The thread is from 18 years ago.
Please take the age of this thread into consideration in writing your reply. Depending on what exactly you wanted to say, you may want to consider if it would be better to post a new thread instead.
