I'm a little curious as to why we split up the Pokemon and trainers. In any episode of Pokemon, there is a list of the Pokemon that appear in the episode. Is there any reason why Ash's Pikachu is first and instead of other Pokemon belonging to Ash being placed after Pikachu, their placed after Team Rocket's Meowth or any of Team Rocket's Pokemon?

Or is it just like that, and no one cared about the placement (with maybe a few exceptions)?

Pikachu, Meowth, and a few others (like Piplup) top the list because they're automatically included when the article is created. The rest, I have no idea.

Sigh.

This proves to me that NO ONE EVER READS THE MANUAL OF STYLE.

Read it. [bp=Bulbapedia:Manual of style]NOW.[/bp]

I'm just saying it doesn't make a lot of sense to split up the Pokemon and their trainers. Pikachu at the top and Ash's Staraptor at the bottom of the list. The manual is just "This is how it is" not "Why this is how it is" and I'm not referring to the order of Pokemon (Like Gliscor is last because it was the last obtained Pokemon for Ash) Why split up the Pokemon and their trainers, wouldn't it make more sense if all of Ash's Pokemon were grouped together, and so on and so forth.

It just seems unnecessary to split them up just because some of Team Rocket's Pokemon take precedence. Some of them don't make sense, if it was simply the order they were obtained, then shouldn't all of Ash's Pokemon (bar his Sinnoh caught team) be before Mime Jr. Because Mime Jr. was caught in the battle frontier while everyone else was obtained prior to that (From Caterpie to Glalie).

But it doesn't bother me that much, I just wanted an explanation as to why it's like that. I guess all I'm going to get is "Because the Manual says so, you noob"

Yes, because the Manuel of Style is a text rendition of our standards. Although I think a table of who appears and who their owners are is also acceptable. (darn, I'm getting obsessed with tables)
