Ok, so I finally got my new laptop, but there's something weird about it.

Every now and then, when a (usually internet-related) dialogue box appears, the default option will be surrounded by a thick blue outline.

Most of the time it doesn't cause a problem, just aesthetically annoying, but on iTunes, it is rather problematic.

That's what I'm talking about. And, in the case of iTunes, that button keeps flashing as if it's being repeatedly clicked, and it is only enabled at random; either way, it is completely nonresponsive when I click it.

Any help or insight into the matter would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Also, when I mouse over the blue part of the box, the cursor becomes the "Move Object" cursor with the four arrows.

EDIT2: And for some reason, it has stopped.

Mr. Jobs would like a Steve-centric domain, wouldn't he.

I kid.

Vista and Apple have been known not to get along, and in fact it's BSD'd my sister's laptop several times (when iTunes 8.0 came out and a few intermittent times in between) Knowing Vista, it's fussing over something, but I'm not sure what to tell you now. Maybe a reinstall of iTunes might help, but you said it's also a problem with other dialogue boxes. Hmm..

Did you check to see if you have the latest version of Java installed? Sometimes these factory laptops aren't quite up to date and maybe something old isn't meshing with your newer stuff you're putting in your computer.

The latest Java and Activex were actually the first things I downloaded when I took it out of the box, before even Messenger or my usual staples.

It seems to have stopped with all dialogue boxes now. I don't know what has happened.

Maybe it was fixed in a computer update?
I think you can change the little designs on everything with Vista... I don't, they're all basically the same to me, but maybe the problem was with that. Vista seems to have a lot of random problems that have random fixes for some reason...
