I recently made a suggestion for a youtube forum command to be implemented and that received quite favourable feedback. So I thought this one might be worth mentioning. I am registered on the "Guild Wars Inc Gamers Forums" and they also use the vBulletin software and they have the possibility of double quoting, basically you can quote whatever the previous poster quoted by using the "Quote Quote" button. It's not a major addition and it's hardly groundbreaking or anything but it makes it easier for users instead of copy pasting whatever was said and putting it in quote brackets or using multiple tabs to pull the quoted.

I was wondering if you can unlock the function because from what I have gathered it does seem to be part of the forum software. Is that possible?

Does anyone want to give any feedback on this idea? Furthermore does anyone actually know what I am talking about? In other words does it make sense the way I have phrased it in this thread? If not I will try and make some screenshots of the other board to explain it better.

Thanks for your time!

I don't like the idea considering most people, for some reason quote an entire text as long as Unown Lord's usual posts, only to have a one liner.

Also I'm pretty sure your talking aobut something like

This is a post
So is this

So when someone has quoted something, and you wish to quote them, what they quoted also comes along.

Thanks for the responce Outrage

When I quote you now I miss the parts you quoted. I am not stating that this should replace the normal quote button or that every time you quote someone normally it should from now on automatically bring all the quotes made in that post along with it. All I meant is that it would be a neat option/addition to have and that it wouldn't be too hard to implement because it is part of the vBulletin software from what I understand. It's basically a streamlining factor that would make it easier to fully quote what was posted.

While the abuse thing is viable, it can be applied to any forum functions and can be done now regardless. So I can understand your concern but one liners are already being done now, I do not think that including this button would increase or decrease that behaviour.

Sorry to double post, this is what it looks like:
