So recently I went back and blasted through PMD Sky. Beat Dialga at level 32 with a Riolu-Chimchar combo.

Right now I'm level 46 in Dark Crater, about to beat up Darkrai. But as I was going through the second part of the dungeon, something weird happened. Naturally, I was "sprinting" (holding down B and walking in a direction) down a corridor and the message box popped with with three rapidfire messages, kinda like what happens when you start to starve, except it didn't pause to let me read.

The screen faded to a black fog and this music started to play. The message box said something along the lines of "That reminds me, friend" but I didn't get to read it because, as luck would have it, the card was dislodged because I'm using a DS lite from 2006 (Old amirite) and the card reader is pretty much broken.

So I thought "eh, it's a scripted thing" and went through the whole dungeon again but it didn't happen. And now it's bugging me because I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED D:

Does anyone have any clue what I'm going on about because I need to know or it'll haunt me forever.

Either the broken ds read the data completely wrong or (worse) your game is old and is suffering from data degradation, when this happens, the game can cue data from the wrong place. You can preserve the rom and save by emulation.

Did your partner at any point get separated from you and start wandering off? Because if you're sprinting while that happens, the game will fast-forward through their turns (causing the backlog of rapidfire messages) and if they got knocked out then it'd be a sudden Game Over (and restart from the last checkpoint) for you. Unfortunately the game card popping out makes it impossible to tell whether this was the case or not (and I don't remember how Explorers handled its Game Overs).
