any length limit on signatures?

forgive me if this has been posted before, but i searched and could not find a reference to it.

are there any rules here for limiting the signature sizes, or has one been discussed? i appreciate the signatures that are short and sweet and only contain one sentence or a couple friend codes (and that aren't multi-colored, bolded, etc, because frankly, that's annoying), but some people take up half my screen with their signatures. i'm on a laptop and screen real estate is sometimes at a premium, unfortunately.

i know how to remove signatures altogether, but then i would lose out on them all and have to re-enable them to find FC people mention. if there is a petition or vote anywhere to say "hey not more than two lines", i give my heartfelt vote.

long and colored
long and bolded
nice that he condensed it, but it's still half my page, and truly, do i need to read that every time i run across a post? :-/

i made some custom css (since i use firefox and can do that!) to whack out those pictures that people put in sigs, but i can't do anything about the lines and lines of text.

anyway, sorry about the soapbox but this is driving me crazy, and i wanted to make sure that this is "just how it is" before i resign myself to shutting down sigs altogether.

Yes, we do have a couple of limits on the signatures just let me find them really quickly.

Here they are!

They need to be no larger than 150 wide by 400 high. Also,no signature should be any larger than 8 standard lines of text.

I agree with bttrflii on that large signatures are bothersome. Often times signatures are longer than the messages themselves.

I find enormous sigs, very annoying.
