Is there anyone here who is no longer interested in Pokemon but stays because of friends, etc.?

I still like pokemon, personally, but my interest is definately fading.

Same here. I still like it, but I just don't enjoy it nearly as much as I used to.
For example, a few years ago, I used to watch it religiously and feel utterly miserable if I missed it. Two weeks ago (I think), though, I just felt like watching something else instead of a new episode, and just yesterday, I wasn't all that upset when I couldn't watch a new episode due to a power outage.
I also hardly play the games (GameBoy or cards) anymore.

It tends to wane in and out, and sometimes I'll forfeit entire sections of the franchise in favor of a single aspect (usually neglecting everything but the cards for extended periods of time), but right now it's at regular levels.

I like Pokémon a lot. I don't believe my liking for Pokémon will ever even start to fade. Actually, it grows larger all the time.

Yes, but I don't think I have myself as hyped as much for the series as some people, so it never really faded. I know there are a lot of old members who lost interest but still visit from time to time (or still do)

I also know some that only really have interest in the main games

My interest has actually grown recently (the prospect of College and adulthood has made me stick with my childhood likes too keep me feeling up)

My interest in playing the games has greatly decreased. In June I purchased Emerald and FireRed for my new DS Lite, but I am still unable to defeat the Elite Four in the former, and I am still in Mt. Moon in the latter. I do not have the patience, and I feel like it is a waste of time, to properly train and level up Pokémon. Despite this, the perfectionist in me strongly desires to complete the National Dex in both games and create a strong, effective team before Diamond and Pearl's U.S. release. However, I do not know if my impatience will allow me to accomplish these goals.

I do have great interest in the Pokémon themselves. I love the idea of an alternate Earth where intelligent and extraordinary creatures are part of the planet's ecosystems. I love looking at the designs of Pokémon and comparing them to real-world animals.

My love for the games has never waned. I got tired of the anime's repetitiveness for a while, but Battle Frontier has reinvigorated me. The only thing that detracts me is the apparent rift in the fandom that grows ever more. All D/P seems to have done is satisfy those that felt betrayed by the third gen by bringing back certain G/S/C features. I have lost my patience for these people, and the instant anything beyond the fourth gen surfaces, I am leaving because I cannot handle it anymore.

Pokemon used to be fun; now it just seems stupid. The stupid-looking new designs they've been coming up with are not of help, either. I'll probably still buy D/P when those come out in English, just for old time's sake; same reason I'm posting on this forum.

They weren't released in the nineties. Duh. :p

My love for Pokemon just grows~! I may not have liked Houen, but the Battle Frontier owned.

I don't really think I could call myself a fan anymore. It's not that I don't like it, it's just that I never really think of it anymore except when I'm being nostalgic.

So yes, I mostly come here just for old time's sake.

My interest has never faded. In fact, I'm actually more obsessed than I was in 1999 or so, back when it was really popular. I just love the whole concept of Pokemon so much... it's not "just another fad" to me, and somehow it never looses it's charm for me.

So, Pokémon might die out sooner than I expected...

Not really, most people who aren't still avid fans will still buy the games. Especially if it's being kept as moist, crisp and fresh as it is now.

Far as we know, our children will be trying to get a complete National Dex too.

Ash will still be ten, of course.

My interest isn't fading at all. Its light-hearted attitude is a better escape from reality than some of the other series out there, so I think Pokémon is always going to be at or near the top of my list of nerd priorities.

I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes like Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, and other classic cartoons of out parents.

It's been waning for me. A year ago, I was all crazy about it, and my post count at SPPF was 7-10 posts a day. In retrospect, that seems like a lot to me now, and my post count barely averages 2. I don't play the video games anymore, and it just seems boring to me now. In fact, I plan to completely stop at the end of 8th grade because high school is going to be tough enough without me visiting SPPF and here every day.

My interest faded a bit when torrents halted, and then college got so full of responsibilities that I always arrived so tired to even keep up with Pokemon. But now since torrents are back my interest is growing back and I'm catching up with Diamond and pearl. feels weird though to be back.
