Since the writers have been referencing past events lately, anyone hope in the Chingling ep that James thinks about his Chimecho? One thing I like about it is Chimecho isn't technically "released" but its with his caretakers back in Kanto. While I don't ever expect to see it return to James' team, I do hope he remembers it or even calls Pop pop on the phone to say hello to it.
Anyone hoping for a Chimecho flashback?

I'm kind of hoping so. If the (dub) writers can reference Victreebell, and the (raw) writers can reference Weepinbell and the Blissey ep, there's nothing preventing them from making James remember it (certainly not time-wise seeing how recent it was that Chimecho was left behind). I doubt he'd call Pop, but I'd definitely like at least a brief mention.

I can see Kojiro crying over Chimecho after the flashback. Nothing like nostalgic events to refresh the memories of viewers that watched Pocket Monsters from day 1.
I'm 100% sure there will be something. He loved that thing too much to just forget about it, plus the writers have been really good this season about references to the past.
Also, the writers seem to love having Kojiro in pain.

I wonder if this new Pokemon Magician (the one with the 3 Chingling) will have a spellbook? I sure hope she does!

Although, with my luck, this new Pokemon Magician will be using a different type of Pokemon Magic (that would be a real disappointment for me). ^^;

He's so loyal to Chimecho, that it seems almost OOC to just not say another word ever.
It would be nice! I hope it happens, but I think it could go either way. Not quite sure how they would do it, but they certainly should! I love those little throwbacks.
I would like to see one, but I dunno....
The writers aren't typically brilliant at bringing back little memories like this, like you would have throught ash would have mentioned May or Misty or even Max a few times since starting sinnoh?

It seems like the writers are reluctant to have Ash mention past characters....
But, in that one episode with the young Officer Jenny and her Luxray, Ash told her about when he first started his journey with Pikachu and how he had problems as well (there was even a flashback).
So anyway, it seems like the writers really like having references to past episodes. The references are just kind of rare, however.
But I'm hoping that D/P will change all of this (they've already had a reference to "Ignorance is Blissey", so far). XD
EDIT: Ash has mentioned Misty before, Rob*. He mentioned her in the episode, "Buizel Your Way Outta This", when he was telling Dawn about the Misty Lure.

Misty was only mentioned because of the lure, and Dawn didn't know who she was. That generally means neither Ash nor Brock bothered to mention her to Dawn until the Buizel capture episode.
The writers probably don't mention old characters because there's no reason to bring them up if we're not going to see them for awhile. Although I always said not mentioning May to Dawn is truly bizarre, you would think Ash would let Dawn know he traveled with a coordinator through two regions before meeting her. Its probably the worst plot hole in the D/P series at the moment.
Old Pokemon, however, can be referenced due to them simply because continuity from the past. We don't expect James to reunite with Victreebel or Chimecho, but its nice to remember they exist.
