The sun peaked over the horizon, brightening the skies with its rays. High in the air, all had thought it would herald a new day of prosperity for all. The darkness that would be brought upon the lands was nothing anyone could've ever had predicted.

A few days after the erection of the barricade, the Council ordered that the Kingdom Army be on high patrol for those whom they believed opposed their views. The day of reckoning for Aegia would come.

And as figures, each of varying backgrounds and importance tried to live their lives, they couldn't help but feel as though something was amiss... both within the Kingdom and beyond...

Eliot Nadel
PC: Kona-Chan

Strength: 280
Defense: 405
Magic: 200
Speed: 425
*Technology: 100

Has requested for another stat.

Techniques
  • Ox's Strength: Eliot alters his spirit, making it more like that of an ox. His strength increases dramatically, and he sprouts a pair of horns.
Lightning's Fury: Eliot channels some of the spirit of the clouds. His fists become electrified, and he shocks anyone he touches. Also, while this power is active, Eliot's eyes glow blue.
  • Heal: Cures injuries of the target. Cuts close, bruises fade, and bones mend themselves when this spell is used.
  • Lightning's Fury: Eliot channels some of the spirit of the clouds. His fists become electrified, and he shocks anyone he touches. Also, while this power is active, Eliot's eyes glow blue.
  • Spirit Ward: Eliot extends his spirit outside of his body, creating a sort of barrier. This barrier, while unable to reflect most attacks, lessens damage taken from them substantially. It also affects Eliot's fists, coating them in a hard shield, making them hit harder.
  • Spirit Bolt: Eliot shapes his spirit with this spell. Much like Spirit Ward, he brings it outside of his body. However, with this spell, he breaks off a piece, and fires it from his fingers at his foe. It hits with similar force to a bullet from a gun. Upon hitting something, it dissipates and returns to his body.
  • Soul Line: Eliot can now alter his soul's shape while it's outside of his body. It takes the shape of white ribbon. He can move it how he wants, much like a body part. It's not that strong, though: it can, at most, lift about 20 pounds. It's somewhat stronger than most ribbon, with roughly the durability of leather. If a piece is cut off, it dissipates and returns to his main soul.
  • Spirit Pulse: Eliot extends his spirit even further past his body, gripping everything nearby. It becomes very hard to move, as if the air had turned to water. When this spell activates, anyone within ten feet of Eliot moves as if they were swimming. They can even float if they hold their breath. Eliot can choose whether this spell activates on him or not.
  • Tsunami's Force: Eliot channels the sheer power of a raging tide, increasing his strength drastically.
  • Magi's Hand: Eliot used a bit of rock from the cave to forge a gauntlet. It fits onto his left hand, and is made of what looks like bronze, with bits of crystal embedded in it. It allows him to focus his spirit when he projects it outside of his body, allowing him to access alternate forms of each spell. Spirit Bolt becomes a tiny ball of energy, ridiculously small, but able to penetrate any armor. Spirit Ward allows him to create tangible barriers, about five feet tall and three feet wide. These don't just slow attacks: They stop them completely. Spirit Pulse is focused into a beam of blue light, which makes anything hit by it unable to move. And Soul Line fires white javelins from his hand.
  • Subdermal Healing Graft: Eliot, combining biology with healing magic, has created a system in his own body to heal him. Taking the form of a tattoo shaped like a pair of wings on his shoulders, it acts as a factory beneath his skin, "teaching" the friendly bacteria indigenous to his body to cast healing magic. This slowly but automatically heals him.
  • Metaskelatal Implants: Eliot modified the DNA within his bone structure using magic. This changed the structure it grows into: It's now similar to metal in form. He's much more durable.
  • Blink: Eliot condenses space, essentially letting him instantaneously move. It has to be somewhere he can see, though.
  • Mind Cloud: Eliot alters another's mind with his magic, blocking him from their mind. This essentially makes them think they can't see him. This is different from invisibility in that instead of making himself unaffected by light, it directly affects the subject's mind. Thus, if he doesn't know someone is watching, he will be seen by them.

Aymaria.... the land of safety.

Arguably one of the most heavily protected cities in the world but in Lachesis's eyes, it was nothing but a chess board.

Knock over one pawn here, pull one string there, every man had his weakness be it money or sexual desires.

And fortunately, he was in the business long enough to know which men had money, protection, or would fence stolen goods.

Sitting in an old timely clock tower Lachesis watched the world move below.

He has seen priests being framed, woman poisoned, and beggars murdered all by his hand and his eyes sparked in delight of his designs.

He pulled out a small phial, a special killing poison of his, and coated his arrow with it. It would be enough for one shot. And that was all he needed.

Peering out of a window he watched his target move among the crowds.

This was perhaps the grandest scheme he has ever committed.

He pulled back the arrow on his specialty longbow and looked down the sights.

The man strutted like a peacock down the streets.... a more perfect target could not be found.

Releasing the arrow he saw it sail in slow motion towards the man's heart.

..

...

One down, the rest of the Council to go.

Eliot was wandering Aymaria. He had a mailbag slung over his shoulder, and was hurriedly looking for the intended recipient of many letters stating the gentleman was pre-approved. Reaching into his pocket, he looked at the picture. Etching it into his memory once more, he returned it to his pocket, only to see the man strutting like a peacock, right in front of him.

"Pardon me, sir, but I have some mail for you..." Eliot says, fishing around in the bag. However, when he looked back up at the man...He was at Eliot's feet, with an arrow sticking out of him.

"What." Eliot says, shocked.

What?

There was a mailman who was inspecting the body.

No need to have loose ends and all that so he coated the next arrow with the same poison took aim.

Peering out of the clock tower he slowly started drawing a bead on the mailman's heart.

Eliot recovered from the shock rather quickly, however, and began to consider protocol on the matter. There really wasn't much. The postmaster simply didn't think it would be likely that somebody would drop dead while a courier was mailing them. Perhaps it would go to whoever killed them? That seemed reasonable. Eliot examined the arrow, and calculating it's point on the man's body, he licked his finger and held it aloft, testing the wind. His eyes moved to the clock tower, and...

There was a man trying to shoot him! Why was the man trying to shoot him? Eliot wondered just this as he ran toward the clock tower so he could straighten everything out. Perhaps he wanted the mail? All the pre-approved credit cards would come in handy, Eliot supposed. Ah, well, he'd clear it up soon enough.

The bead on the arrow followed the man as he began to advance of Lachesis's position then it dropped.

He was simply advancing too fast to take proper aim and Lachesis was not one for wasting arrows.

He leaped through the window of the clock tower falling an approximation of 20 feet before tuck and rolling on a shingle. Running across the rooftops with precision that took years to perfect he drew his long dagger that was precoated with a nonlethal but temporary paralytic poison.

He began to run towards the mail man.

Eliot watched the man run at him with a knife.
"Sir, I'd prefer you not stab me." Eliot says, as his eyes glow blue, and horns sprout from the sides of his head. "I simply must deliver mail. You can have his credit cards if you want."

Lachesis stopped for a second.

At first his facial expression was strange and then he laughed.

"My dear chap, I am sorry to inform you that I am no interested in his mail. I will however apologize to your mail master for setting you up for your death. For I am Lachesis Lockheart, the bane of nobles. And who are you magic user?"

"Are you in Aymaria right now?" the voice asked from over the communicator.

Turning, Winter only rolled her eyes. She was sure he was monitoring her. What did he think? "Of course I am," she answered back, careful to put just enough sarcasm in her voice.

"Hey now, don't be so insolent little sister," Little sister... Hah! And she was the one doing all of the work! "Seriously, you said you would try to be civil. Aymaria is a huge place. Go straight to man whose supposed to give us our mail and be done with it. Then go-"

"I know the plan!" she snapped. "Listen Damien, stop babying me. I'm not a kid," his need to explain already coherent plans to her was unnecessary. And just plain annoying at times.

"... I know. Sorry," he stated. She didn't want to feel the guilt that slowly crept up her spine. "Just... come back safely..."

Winter nodded. She knew his surveillance could see it. "Roger. Signing off," she cut her transmission, beginning to walk farther down the path into town. This mailman held something important... what it was, she had no idea.

While Lachesis was talking, Eliot launched a powerful roundhouse kick at his face, electricity sparking on his foot.

"You may call me Eliot. Eliot Nadel. Shaman, mailman." He says, as he follows up by punching at his stomach.

The punch missed him by an inch. Eloquently doing an acrobatic stunt that came from years of experience he dodged it.

Damn magic users, always have to jump the gun.

Twirling his dagger like a baton he said "Tsk Tsk, come on lad put a bit more effort into it."

"If it's all the same to you, I would prefer not to, sir. I dislike violence, and I really would just like to make sure the mail goes to whoever it's rightful owner is." Eliot says, waving the letters around for emphasis. "And avoid being stabbed. I dislike that."

"Fine, have it your way Eliot. I'll put the blade down." Lachesis snarled while sheathing his blade.

"Now lad, lets discuss business. You give me some coin and I'll consider you never witnessed that nasty bit of business over there." Lachesis chuckled with a wicked grin.

"I am a man of reason after all." he grinned.

"Why do I have to pay you? It is usually the mail person who is paid. Besides, you fired into a crowd. I'm not the only person who saw it. Even if I did pay you, it likely would not help." Eliot says. Then his eyes widen as comprehension dawns on his face. "Wait...You are an assassin!"

"Because lad, money is my business. I am not merely an assassin, I am the best at what I do. You are the only one who knows the identity of the man I shot. Now, I ask you again, how much is your life worth to you? Honestly dumping bodies and bribing guards is a lot of work so lets save each other the trouble eh lad." Lachesis spoke as he drew his blade again.

Bringing the tip of the coated blade to the mans neck he barked "Speak boy."

Eliot simply launches a knee at the man's groin. "I am sorry, but I must apprehend you now. Killing people is not nice, and the spirits frown on people who are not nice." Eliot nods, as he jumps back.

Lachesis expected this type of reaction and nicked the mans neck with his dagger before doubling over in pain from the kick.

Coughing from the overload of pain he stammered "I ain't on good terms with the spirits to be quite frank. Anyways, congratulations, you should expect your nervous system to shut down very fast. In seconds you won't be able to move at all." he cackled as he waited for his paralytic poison to take effect.

Going through town, Winter only growled in frustration. No one had seen that blasted mailman! It was simply unheard of! Aymaria was an organized place; certainly something as important as a missing mail man would send people into search parties!

"We tried everywhere, but he was nowhere to be found," some elderly man gave his excuse. She could swear that the elderly were getting more and more senile as the generations went on... haha, look at her; talking like an old person now.

"This is just great. Damn it," she cursed, looking around. Turning to a lady, she decided she would just press her luck here. "By Zeus's hand..." she muttered, walking over to the woman. "Excuse me, have you seen the local mail man?"

The woman nodded, pointing down the road. "He went farther into town. You can catch him on his route if you go now," she chirped happily. Finally! A lead!

Nodding in thanks, Winter turned to walk briskly down the road. This mail, whatever it may be, was certainly important to Damien. So it was definitely important to her.

Eliot activated his healing spell, and he glowed. However, it still wasn't enough, and he found he couldn't move, and he fell over.

Lachesis dragged himself to Eliot and propped them both on the wall.

"Damn you monks and your fancy kicks." he winced as he unscrewed a phial on his poison/medicine belt. Drinking a painkiller he felt the pain dissipate and felt better immediately.

"You're more use to me alive than dead mail boy. Congrats, today is your lucky day." he laughed as he got another phial that was labeled Paralysis Cure

He was about to give it to the monk until he saw in a distance a girl heading towards them. Slipping the cure back on his belt he cursed. Is everybody in his way today?

Readying another arrow coated in a lethal poison he raised a bead on the girl and tracked her movements. If she proved to be a threat, she might as well be dead already.
