I've noticed a lot of people talking about this lately. When Ash came home from the Hoenn league, they spent 2 or so eps at Pallet Town where most of the main cast was reunited and all of Ash's older Pokemon were shown. The writers did things that had never been done before, such as May meeting Delia, Max and Tracey interacting, Misty getting the off-spring of Tracey's Marill, and Ash showing all his older Pokemon to May and Max.

However, why are people expecting the same thing to happen at the end of Sinnoh? If you remember, the last Pallet Town ep at the end of BF was extremely short and consisted of nothing more than an Ash Vs. Gary battle.

By the time Sinnoh ends, what would be the point of reuniting the main cast again when most of them will not be seen for the next 200 episodes? I also think its a strong possibility that Dawn will never go to Pallet Town, as she will split from the group in Sinnoh instead.

Are people really expecting the writers to bring the entire cast, which now consists of 10+ characters, back together at the end of every region for a Pallet ep? The way I see it, the writers realize the main cast has grown too large, and there's little reason to showcase characters if they're not going to be seen for the entire next 4-year generation anyway.

What do you think? Are the end-of-region Pallet eps going to be downplayed from this point on like the last Battle Frontier Pallet ep, or do you think they'll make a big deal out of it?

...it was one episode. It's not like we can use that to determine what all Pallet Town episodes will be like. I think it was different since BF took place in Kanto and it was so short, so Pallet Town was just recently visited and there was no reason for some big reunion again.

With Sinnoh though...since we'll probably see most his Pokemon at the League, you're probably right. We'll most likely get cameos of all his friends watching on TV for the League, so there might not be a need for them.

Honestly I don't care about it at all.

But no, I don't expect this saga's renuion to be long, but I don't expect it to be very short either. And I think the reunions will continue. Yeah.

The reason why I think this is after Hoenn, the next arc was set in Kanto, they even had Prof. Birch cameo there, and he's such a minor character!

However now, the next arc is in the 5th gen region, and its possible Dawn won't travel to Kanto and will split in Twinleaf town instead.

There's absolutely no way to know what they'll do this time
I think that at least Misty will appear, if not May and Max too...

OH NOEZ PALLET TOWN ONLY GOT ONE EPISODE AUGH RUINED FOREVER...

Might I point out Pallet Town only got two episodes grand total in the original series, and as BF is technically part of AG, then Pallet Town got three episodes in that.

There wasn't a reason to have another big party in Pallet after only one season.

I don't think so, as long as we see a nice reunion, I'm happy! :)

If Dawn leaves the show, she going to Kanto for Grand festival.

How much thought are they required to give to these kinds of episodes? They don't owe it to anyone. If they feel like it, then -BAM- we'll get some filler episodes to bridge the gap from Sinnoh to whatever.

They do this kind of stuff mid-series too, y'know. Twinleaf Festival anyone? It's clear to me that their fancies change and their whims bend ever so slightly. The wind might be blowing East tomorrow, which wets their appetite for a series of bizzarre episodes. Who the hell knows.

I will be happy as well if the reunion actually is decent and includes everyone who was on the main cast during the original series as sadly they are in Kanto with two exceptions only. Assuming I continue on into generation 5 and the TV series does, these Pallet Town reunions will be the only first run episodes I watch most likely and the rest of the time the series will be dead to me.

Nah, man.

They had like a whole little mini-arc before the league. I actually kind of liked that a bit...the episodes weren't amazing, but it was kind of nice for them to settle down for a bit and have a home-base, so to speak.

Ash actually spent like 10 episodes at Pallet back in the first season. Remember how went back home to train for 3 months for the Indigo league but always got sidetracked?

That's why Delia got more appearances in Kanto than any other arc.

Well i do expect reunion at end of Sinnoh with at least Misty showing up,but i have to agree its not very likely that if cast continues to grow(which it shouldnt)all of past main characters wil be present at Pallet reunion.

Writer will probably show them up somewhere on the road, but its not very probable that all of Ash friends are every time being reunited at Pallet.I will be very surprised if this time May an Max show up again, and if we keep getting new characters Pallet reunions will ver soon become crowded for everyone to be in them.
Im even surprised that people actually think here how Mistys next return(sadly and most likely just an short apearance)will be basically same like it happened during last Pallet reunion, and that she is doomed to just return for them. There is nothing to say we wont be seeing her somewhere else, with writers avoiding same scenario.
Even mr,Hidaka in his controversial inteview announced how she might show up for some tournament or meeting with Ash and friends somewhere on road, however more info regardng this he didnt wanted to reveal.

But one thing is for sure, older females like May and Misty are being treated horribly, being showed after every couple of years for just small appearances. They deserve more than this, and instead of usual girl replacing better bring lder one(preferably first one,who has many reasons for return).

Sorry. Been a while.

Anyways, the point still stands. They had a big party, spent a season running around Kanto, and then came back. there wasn't any reason to throw another big party.

Plus, that was one time. One time. I'm pretty sure that doesn't make a pattern.

Maybe you could consider a "Scott's Pointless Pokemon Speculation Questions" Facebook page instead of making a new thread everytime something pops into your head.

There's been no real indication in the last 10 years of Pallet Town episodes are increasing or decreasing. There was one at the end of Kanto (although there was also two-three episodes between the 8th Gym and the Leage), one after Johto, one after Hoenn (plus the very end of the pervious episode), one after the Battle Frontier. The only time there's been more than one end-of-region Pallet Town episode was Orange Isalnds.

Pallet Town got about the same amount of time at the end of both the Original Series and Advanced Generation - which was the last half of the episode before moving onto Hoenn/Sinnoh. The only real difference between the two was that May and Max were leaving instead of Misty.

It'd be amazing if Ash won the Sinnoh league, and then they'd throw a big party in his favor in Pallet Town. It'd be a good excuse to get all his friends back together again, and would serve as a good way to start his journey to the generation 5 region.

I don't see any evidence whatsoever that the end of saga Pallet episodes are being downplayed, Scott. Your main argument for this is that Ash only fleetingly returned at the end of the Battle Frontier before heading off to Sinnoh. So what? He only returned for a while at the end of Johto and that didn't prevent the arc that we had at the end of Hoenn. So in my opinion, there's still every possibility of there being an episode or two dedicated to Ash and co. crashing at Pallet.

I myself think that a Pallet reunion episode would make excellent viewing before we head off to the Gen V region, especially as Sinnoh has been such a long saga. It'd be a great chance to see what other characters have been up to, bring former main characters such as Misty, Tracey and May back into the fold for a while and also give us a bit of familiarity before the writers throw us back into the unknown again of the 5th Gen region.

The end of Hoenn reunion was one of my favourite episodes due to just how much was going on. Misty returned and revealed that Tracey had given her his Marill's offspring, May got a Squirtle from Oak, Ash added Phanpy to his Frontier roster and we got to see a whole range of popular characters and Pokemon interacting in the same place. It made interesting viewing.

I don't think there's any proof that Azurill is Tracey's Marill's baby... Tracey could just get an Azurill egg in any other way
Both Azuril and Marill appeared on screen at the same time and didn't interact with eah other at all - nothing! I'm sure if they were intended to be parent and baby they'd make it a little more obvious
But yeah, Scott... stop with these ridiculous threads

This was discussed when the eps aired, I believe the Japanese version made the indication that Azurill was indeed the off-spring of Tracey's Marill. We just don't know who his Marill actually mated with.

I think they will do the regular thing of a big Pallett reuinion at the ened of sinnoh even if only so Ash can do a team reboot leaving some Pokes at Oaks lab besides surely if u had just come back from Sinnoh you would see ya mum before you went off again wouldnt you
